TLDR : Answer Summary
There is currently no official confirmation regarding the shortening of the visa exemption period from 60 days to 30 days in Thailand, despite some speculation and rumors. Various comments discuss the importance of tourism in light of recent events and express doubt about such a policy change, emphasizing the uncertainty often associated with Thai immigration rules.

on the contrary I agree with what you say.

I really think that The Thai

Immigration officers themselves arenโ€™t aware of their own Countries immigration laws & and procedures.

All so very & unnecessarily confusing.

after May 1st you fill in a digital arrival card. Just your travel info. Not a visa.

No official announcement on visa period reduction. Since was first suggested there's been a serious earthquake which is detrimental to increasing tourism. In addition Thailand now has 25% tariff on vehicles to USA and 10% on everything else. Maybe now's not ideal time to discourage tourists.

Been heaps of info regarding it on various Thailand Facebook pages, Airlines probably don't care because if you forget or don't do it then you do it on arrival and delay your exit from the airport.
