Related to my question above, I can now make an appointment it seems but only as far out as one month from the appointment. What I would like to know is how many weeks or days can a person apply for a new 1-year Extension of Stay? I heard it was 45 days before but I might be wrong and/or it might have changed. TIA.

Update— I didn’t realise I had to register (yet again for a Thai gov. service) so once I did, it appears I can now make an appointment. Thanks.

Thank you for the information. I tried that other one as well and can’t get it to work. Just gives info but no link to anywhere an appointment can actually be made.

likewise. I hold quite a substantial amount of that myself as well. I think part of the reason why they only allow THB is because like most banks around the world, especially high street banks, Thai banks are all hemorrhaging money because most people simply do not use them anymore, and anyway, hardly anyone has savings nowadays due to the downturn in the global economy.

AFAIK, this is not true. Only THB directly can be seasoned as money for a Thai visa for, marriage, Education, retirement or any other. I asked about other assets held in Thailand e.g. cryptos in a Thai exchange? No. I asked about properties in Thailand in my name? No. They are very strict about this THB rule as far as I can tell. Good luck.

if you must use an agent, and I never would, at least put your passport in the man’s hand. That way you can be sure at least that it reaches him and is not lost in the post which would be a major headache. He could still lose it anyway, but at least you did everything you could at your end.

thanks for addressing the question I asked. I just discovered that the post office is closed for the next few days so I’m not going to be able to follow my plan after all. Thanks for your comment.

sorry I must’ve missed that. I thought I read that she’d already got help from others in the building to move out. Anyway, the landlord took 40,000 THB from the deposit so if they have any common sense, theyll simply accept the broken contract as it is and move on e.g. advertise it to find someone else. There’s actually no point in chasing a tenant after they’ve moved out. Waste of time.

thanks. I really appreciate it that you actually answered the question that I posed. I have done it before but I couldn’t remember if I sent the original or photocopy, and I know they can be quite fussy down there at Chang Wattana IO. Thanks again.

if you had read my post you would see that I have done it online before but it’s unreliable. So sending me a link isn’t really helping me in anyway.
