Will my bank balance need to be verified again when I get my Extension of Stay via marriage stamp?
I’m about to have my 1-year Extension of Stay via marriage renewal interview soon and was wondering if anyone knows if, when you go to get the result a couple of weeks later, and receive the requisite stamp in your passport, they still check to see if the 400K THB is still in your bank? It’s supposed to be, but I’d like to start using the money again for other things. TIA.

OPYeah the reason I asked is cos last year they didn’t ask for the bank book to check the 400K THB was still seasoning. I was quite surprised. I’m expecting a huge global market dump on or around 19.11.23 and I want to load up on assets e.g. cryptos before the crash :-)

Good question... my first 4 extensions at imm in Bangkok yes. This year's extension I provided evidence same as previous 4 years and they said "don't need it anymore".. even though the officer who processed it reminded me to keep it 400k...

I would advise keep the money in until at least 1 day after your new extension starts.

General advice is to keep the money in the bank until you have the full stamp in your passport. They usually will not ask to see proof of the money again, but they could.
