Quick question. What’s the requirement for holding the 400K in a Thai bank? Is it for 2 or 3 months? I ask because I applied at CW this morning for a 1-yr Extension of Stay for my Non Imm O visa by marriage and the IO told my wife that when I go back to CW in a month, I again have to bring my bank book to show proof of the 400K funds. Is that correct? Has the term length changed to 3 months now? Anyone know? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for holding 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account is typically for a duration of 2 months prior to application, totaling 3 months including the waiting period for approval. However, the enforcement of this rule can vary between immigration offices in Thailand, with some offices only requiring the bank book at the time of application and not during final processing.

Yeah, different rules depending on where. Why? Because if an office had to admit they do it the "wrong" way, they would "lose face." Therefore, they just continue doing it that way, until nobody's quite sure which way is wrong or right. That's just how they do it, and it makes perfect sense to them. Fascinating country! I used to think they were looney tunes, but now I'm not so sure. Does that mean I'm looney tunes now? Maybe. Does it matter? No, all that matters is that I figure out how they want me to do it, I think.

My local office at Pathum Thani immigration only want to see the bank book at the time when applying for the extension. When I return after 30 day's to get my final stamp no bank book is need... different immigration offices different rules.

do it anyway.

Spend enough time living here and rules/expectations can change by the minute. TiT.

Ok thanks. Don’t remember doing that last time. But if you say that’s the case, fair enough. Many thanks.

2 months prior and it stays in for an extra month while waiting for approval. Total of 3

And yes you need to done transaction the same day you collect it so the date is current when you show them your account.

It's supposed to be a minimum balance of 400k for the whole 3 months. That's the rules anyway.

Update your bankbook/ account the day you collect your extension. They will want to see balance of 400k still in account.
