I disagree, in that, and even more so now, yes it is/was a rule that was written once, for certain reasons, I’m not even sure exactly why, other than ‘Controlling’ the visa’d population during its boom times, in the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s But ALL the fuss and talk about now is TOURISM and VISITORS and SPENDING MONEY. Times have changed, attitudes are changing. I would think a financially based, shorter term tourist visa, on a par with the Elite would do well to weed out the spongers.

But she got a letter of acceptance from the embassy for being a TEACHER ? I thought it just key/essential workers ? And yes, which teachers can pay the 35,000 ? And of those which will. But please confirm she has applied and been accepted based on her job here, and she’s not just turning up with an ‘existing WP and visa’. Thank you

you would no doubt like to hear that. Yet another with the good fortune of a visa, but wishing the worst for anyone else who dares come to Thailand. I’ve just got a Ed Visa, so I’m starting my retirement early. Just need to bounce around on Ed Visa and METV’s for two years, and if I still have the desire to be here and it still looks a good deal, I’ll get the 5 yr Elite to take me through to the big 50, if that’s ok with you Barry ? 👍🙏😂
