I live here and they lie to farang. She is probably married and they are getting your money. If you are already sending her money then it’s stupid. All Thais basically live together in a family. If so, she has very low expenses-if any. Thai women don’t go out and get apartments and live on their own like Americans. If y’all get married, you will be supporting her and her family. Sorry, but you will be an atm.

If you build or buy a house and car, they will be in her name unless you pay cash. When this happens, she will make you leave and everything will legally be hers.

Thai women are all over the internet. They like farang because they don’t cheat like Thai men. Thai men will have multiple wives along with their mistresses. Oh, and they all will know each other.

If she lives in a smaller town then you are definitely being fooled. If she doesn’t have a job then even more being fooled.

If she has a good job, her own car/motorbike, house and doesn’t dress like a slut then it might be real. Normal Thais wear very modest clothes. If she is skanking it up then she is looking for more men than you.

Be careful...this is from a woman that knows many, many men who have gotten taken. The stories I know are insane.

not for a tourist visa, that’s for a retirement visa. I am an American and I could be here 3 months without anything. I had a job but didn’t have that visa yet.

If it wasn’t for covid you could come here and do visa runs every three months and be fine.

You can always apply at the embassy to come here. You just have to quarantine for 2 weeks and pay for it which is a couple grand after it’s all done with.

Right now you can’t come anyway. They still have the country in a state of emergency with 2 weeks quarantine if they accept your application. You are looking at sometime next year at the earliest.

If you get a job here then you will get a work permit and visa. There are no financial requirements. You will have a contract to be in the country from your employer.

Just have a job. I have been here for a year.
