The discussion revolves around the uncertainty for foreigners in Thailand regarding visa extensions and registration processes due to changing regulations influenced by government meetings. Concerns have been raised about those with expired tourist visas and the registration for returning foreigners, especially those in relationships with Thai nationals or having children. Many commenters express frustration over the lack of clear guidelines, and some seek advice on obtaining visas to visit spouses or for family reunification.

Why don’t UK and USA. Just lie and say no cases for weeks you know like a lot of countries are already doing then everything will be ok again......simples.
I have just got this officially from embassy you cannot register yet. The 2000 or so they said registered must be crossover from work permit holders.

This is the Press. I rather suspect that the word 'register' is a misnomer.

Politicians and beaurocrats screwing up everything... as usual.
Tourists changing to other location will not come back again. That is a general experience.

Be fair. They are, at least, thinking about what they are doing. This only hit 3 months ago. Sorting it all out will take time. Frustrating as that is.
there isn’t any place to register yet. It’s still all talk. It’s going in front of the cabinet this week. I’m sure everything will be a bit more clear later this week or early next week.

I could/should have extended my none o visa in sarakham, when I went into the office, I quote “Falang no visa now, you Stephen Gerrard” so that was the official statement I got, wasn’t 100% sure but I’m still worried I should have extended and I’m not Stephen Gerrard, I don’t even support Liverpool. Everyday something new comes out, I’d assume they do not even know themselves given they are still using sticky notes and computers from the 1980s, I hope people with kids are first on the list married or not.

What about foreigners with kids but not married. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️😥
unfortunately around most places in world its marriage only. I know so many people had to get married to get visas with there other half. Singapore Dubai Malaysia Brasil UK.

So people currently in Thailand with expired tourist visas that probably need to leave around 31.07 will not be able for a visa run and return shortly?
. I think border bouncing and one-day visa runs may be a thing of the past. Tourists (once they're allowed in under the "bubble" principle) will need to apply through an embassy for visa and certificate of entry
you have a good point at least for the foreseeable future. Doesn't help those already here unless they allow us to apply within the country instead of insisting we have to border bounce
. Your situation is different. You're not coming off a tourist visa. You've had seven years residence under a PE. I still do not believe you will be compelled to leave the country to go through bureaucratic red tape. I think in the next few weeks we're going to see a massive shake up of visa laws in Thailand which will enable residents like yourself to switch in country
Probably they do nothing to make you leave, but you will be on overstay. So not everybody will have to leave at once, but those getting caught will probably have a problem.
I hope for people on tourist visa they get more time, but if amnesty ends 31 July, there is not much they can say. Immigration will say tourist had a lot of time leaving Thailand.
Just my thought on the situation, not claiming to be an expert.
the amnesty was introduced to give people extra time to leave Thailand. I think it's fair to say that those who arrived on tourist visas or visa exempt status have had plenty of time to arrange a flight back home/out of Thailand.
, actually I’m here with her now... but I work elsewhere, and really need to be able to fly back into to Thailand before I can book any work. So, I guess you could say I’m desperate to get back to making money 😉
