there’s loads in Pattaya, I can’t remember the guy’s name but he only charges if you get the visa, so he only wants guaranteed wins. I will dig out the details for the agent in BKK. We waited for a few months but not for any particular reason.
I had exactly the same problem. Did the application myself, got refused so I went to an agent. First one was a Brit in Pattaya, recommended to me by a friend. He said it was not possible. Went to another Thai agent in Bangkok and she got it sorted.
I put my second passport in for renewal in the UK in June. Ten weeks later they allowed me to email them for an update. Got no reply for two weeks so emailed again. A week later they replied to say they had sent me a letter. Got someone to check at my UK house for any letters and there were none. Emailed them to tell them. No reply. Then yesterday, a week after my last email, I got a number withheld call on my mobile. A gentleman with a very very strong Indian accent asked me some odd questions which I assumed were the precursor for a scam, then he said he was calling about my passport application, I could barely understand what he was saying, but he wanted a letter explaining why I still need two passports. He emailed me half an hour later confirming our conversation and said I will receive my passport “soon”. If I only had one passport I would be absolutely stuffed! Nearly 15 weeks now and I need my passport(s) for work.
I have never ever been asked for proof of onwards travel at immigration in Thailand. I have however been asked twice by the check in staff at the departure airport. Both times I have explained that I am going to be leaving within my 30 days and they allowed me to travel. As others have said, if you’re denied boarding, just go online and buy a cheap return ticket to a bordering country, preferably one you can cancel and refund.
Just to confirm, your gf definitely requires a Schengen visa to visit Spain. We went to the UK in summer and we had to get a separate Schengen visa in Thailand so she could visit her sister in Germany. It was not an easy process tbh, I don’t know if we messed up saying she was visiting her sister, but they wanted a mountain of information from her and her husband. It might have been better to say we were going on holiday but we were advised the visa would be denied unless we were visiting someone.
if that’s aimed at me, apologies if not, yes I am “pro-jab”, I have had more vaccinations than I can count. But I am definitely neither lefty nor woke. ⅓ not bad, could do better.
