Morning all, got the email I didn’t want today regarding visitor visa to the uk for my gf, refused.

Anybody been refused and had luck second time round ?

I’ll probably use an agency this time so looking for recommendations. Any good agencies that have a good success rate, let me know

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the experiences of individuals whose Thai girlfriends were denied UK visitor visas. Several users share personal stories of both refusals and successful reapplications. Key issues highlighted include the reasons for denial, such as lack of proof of intent to return to Thailand, and the potential for success on subsequent attempts. Users also seek and recommend visa agencies, while debating their effectiveness, stress the importance of providing thorough documentation during the application process, such as financial support and ties to home country.

I had exactly the same problem. Did the application myself, got refused so I went to an agent. First one was a Brit in Pattaya, recommended to me by a friend. He said it was not possible. Went to another Thai agent in Bangkok and she got it sorted.

I’ve seen the lad in Pattaya, dropped him a quick line, along with a couple of other agencies. Can you remember who helped you in bkk. Did you reapply pretty much straight away, or leave it a while ? Thanks for the reply.

there’s loads in Pattaya, I can’t remember the guy’s name but he only charges if you get the visa, so he only wants guaranteed wins. I will dig out the details for the agent in BKK. We waited for a few months but not for any particular reason.

Agencies don't do anything except help organize the paperwork

M8 the same thing happened to me an my then girlfriend applied for tourist visa. They refused saying she had no reasons to return to Thailand. If you apply again and your girlfriends situation is the same. You will be refused agai . Change to a different visa. I changed to fiancé visa. So all her circumstances b4 did not matter. We got it and lived in Uk for 5 year. Now live in Thailand

thanks for the reply. A different visa was a option I thought about, but we’re not in a rush to get married just yet. I’ll take a look at the requirements. Thanks again, much appreciated.

no worries I looked at the time regarding agent. They give me a load of bullshit saying I had to put 100,000 baht in he bank. I got in touch with Uk immigrating they said no way to many of the things the agent had said. You really learn more as you delve into thing yourself

Gary Fordham - Don’t be discouraged, it’s a numbers game. My Wife on a settlement visa now as we have returned to the UK but her initial visitor visa was rejected and the second one went through, no change to anything. All subsequent ones went through first time. Put it in again.

You did supply all details of her mother, father, daughter in applicaion, such as dates of birth ID card numbers. Copies of her bank statements. Letter of inivte from you stating your address, copy of your passport, copy of your own bank statement showing you can support her for the time in the Uk. List of potential place you would viist in the UK. State you will pay for all flights. Dont ask for 6 months just give estimated date of arrival and say only staying for a month.

Will Richardson thanks for that. Gave all that info, plans while in the uk. The problem is her house and rent she gets is in her mums name. On paper she doesn’t have a great deal. I’ve asked her to change that, so it shows her as the true owner of her house, and receives the rent into her account. I’ll give it another go once she’s changed account info and house back into her name. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Basically not having a good enough reason to return to thailand. Daughter in thailand that she looks after, has property rented out in thailand, the problem is the money goes into her mums account. Land also. So, any experiences yourself as in visa refused, agencies used ?

Thanks

Well what was the reason? Her age? The money? Her not having reasons to come back to thailand like such as not owning property, having elder fsmily to take care of? If she was denied once, it will most likely happen again. I even know thai superstars who were denied and they can proove tons of stuff. Most western countries are not happy to let thai women into their countries
