I honestly don’t know enough about SETV to comment. I have had a retirement visa previously but I didn’t bother renewing it as I travel in and out every six weeks or so, so I can just do the exemption on arrival. I am also entitled to the marriage visa now, but asking others the general consensus is to use retirement if possible.
I could not care less about how long you’ve lived here, and if you’re living here for that long how are you staying here now on exemption extensions?
I just looked in my passport and I extended my exemption in November 11 days before the due date at Jomtien immigration. So I conclude you’re talking BS.
You can go anytime before the 20th, and I would advise to go sooner rather than later.
Also, if you’re going to Jomtien or Si Racha immigration you will need to have some proof of where you are staying. A letter from the hotel or rental agreement. It’s not a requirement in Bangkok or Hua Hin, or it wasn’t a couple of years ago.
Mine’s almost gone too and I have not had any issues. I travel extensively as part of my job so it would have been picked up quickly if it was an issue.
