TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual received approval for a Tourist TR visa, allowing them to enter Thailand by July 16, which grants a 60-day stay upon entry. It's crucial to enter Thailand before the visa's expiration date of July 16, 2023, to receive the full duration of stay.

Good grief

You have 90 days to enter Thailand on that visa then you’ll get stamped in for 60 days which you can extend once for 30 days

Thai visa system is different from Schengen visa system. Even if you arrive on the exp. date, 16 July, you will always be grant 60 days from there. Schengen Visa on the other hand will not allow you to stay after exp date of the visa itself.

🙄 Glad you worked it out. 555+

I think some people need to go to university to get a degree in the bleedin' obvious 🤔

This seems a recurrent issue. Folks misinterpret the validity of the visa with the period of stay. Years ago I ran into a lady who was past the exit date stamped on her passport but kept insisting she had a 3 month visa.

The 90 days that the visa is valid for starts the day it's issued, meaning you've got 90 days to use the visa. If you use the visa within that 90 days you'll be stamped into the Country for 60 days. It's not rocket science!

@Steve ******
this is true. It is misleading in my humble opinion. Recently (last year) I had tourist visa in hand .. date issued .. 2 weeks before I travelled. The stamp-in on arrival doesnt mean the visa period !

All these little tricks & traps to confuse the new travellers.

Yes I know. But Brandon said that was wrong on an earlierpost and said the Visa duration starts the day its issued and you only get 60 day in country from when its issued not from when you enter. It seems it is rocket science for you
Steve *******
@Andy *******
The visa duration DOES start the day it's issued and you get 60 days 'admitted to stay' the day you enter Thailand.
Andy ********
@Steve ******
YES, i know and thats my point. You clearly never saw an earlier post where this was said to be wrong. Anyway, Im done on this im just happy knowing i wasnt talking rubbush in the previous post.

@Andy *******
Post a screenshot of the earlier advice you received. It's easy to search for your previous posts. This will clear up the issue once and for all won't it?
Andy ********
@Roberto ********
What for, it has been cleared up by this post and everything has been said above several times. Search it yourself if its so important to you.
Roberto *********
@Andy *******
It's not important to me at all. I know how a TR visa works. It hasn't changed in years. You're the one going into meltdown over it

@Roberto ********
You obviously cant read
Shaun *********
You've answered your own question. Straightforward
David *********
You must enter Thailand by the 16th of June and will be given 60 days from the date you enter

@David ********
16th July I think ? Not June ?
Brandon ************
You must enter Thailand by 16 July. When you do you'll be stamped in for 60 days.

@Brandon ***********
How come when I said this on a previous post you said I was wrong and the time starts from when the visa was issued not the date you enter Thailand? I knew I was right as thats what I did with my Visa.🤔
Roberto *********
@Andy *******
The VISA starts from the date of issue. The ENTRY STAMP which is granted by virtue of the visa starts on the date of entry.
Andy ********
@Roberto ********
YES WE ALL KNOW 🤦‍♂️
Brandon ************
@Andy *******
the VISA DATE starts the day it is issued. I really don't understand what you don't understand so don't bring this up again
Andy ********
@Brandon ***********
And the duration starts from the day you enter as stated above
