When i applied for my passport for the same reason as you i did a fast track and if you do it sharpish you will get it back in time, you get a letter to take with you to immigration and they swap the stamp over for you

Im looking for options to stay there long term 47yo so cant get the retirement visa yet but i do have about 1.5m baht 100k in thai bank at the mo and looking to move there april/may next year. So im putting the money over there so i have 800k there at least but wanted to know how to go about getting a visa i am doing degree to try to get legit work there as one option but my girl says get the 1yr tourist but that only takes me to 49yo
