TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about the process of transferring visa information when getting a new passport due to insufficient pages. It is clarified that while eligible stamps from the old passport can be transferred to a new passport along with a supporting letter from immigration, visa stickers cannot be moved. The user can still apply for a new visa or extension using the old passport, but the new extension will match the validity of the old passport until the new one arrives.

Sorry, but how to get UK passport quickly is out of the scope of this group.

When i applied for my passport for the same reason as you i did a fast track and if you do it sharpish you will get it back in time, you get a letter to take with you to immigration and they swap the stamp over for you

Well yes it’s a new visa unless they give me another covid extension? That’s why I’m kicking myself trying to get a new passport before I get another year so big gamble to take 😩 and next week is another 3 day thai holiday not looking good unless it’s just about the expiration date mine runs out 2029 it just the pages that is the problem

the answer has been given to you, when you get your new passport it will come with a letter to immigrations and you take BOTH passports to the immigration office by the airport in Chiang Mai and they'll move the extension of stay stamp (not visas) from the old one to the new one.

if I ordered my new passport tomorrow do I keep my old one while I’m waiting for the new one or I get them both back when the new passport arrives sorry to go on just wana make sure

@Si***
- you'll submit a complete copy of the current passport with submission - Check the application forms - ie you keep the passport (but once application is submitted it can not be used for travel). Not sure how VFS/HMPO arrange the logistics of getting the new passport (with embassy letter & passport cancelling) to you in CM - is it via the consulate.

yes it’s via the consulate at least as I understand it they weren’t that helpful with my questions possibly as it was the end of the day hence my looking for advice here and there closed today but thanks for ur input so what I can make of it I can still proceed on getting a new visa as mine is up on 12 May but I can use old one for that while I’m waiting for the new one?

@Si***
- i think you mean new extension (not visa) - if you use your "old" passport for the new extension - the extension will only be upto the date the passport expires. Hopefully you can get the new passport back in time for the new extension so you get a full year.

I just got my new uk passport a week ago - HMPO / VFS in Trendy said upto 11 weeks - new passport returned and in hand by week 6. The embassy here has nothing to do with renewing passports it's all done thru VFS. (Except emergency travel doc')

Spent best part of 6 hrs yesterday at CW waiting for 5min to transfer my stamps / details over to new passport. Simple but time consuming.

Visa's (as in stickers) do not get transferred so you'd use both passports - extensions of stay (as in stamps) get transferred over.

As I understand it when you get a new passport inside Thailand it comes with a letter which you bring to immigration and they move any relevant stamps to your new passport. Visa stickers can't be moved

If you have eligible stamps, those are transferable to a new passport. But not visa sticker.

If you mean you apply for visa at the Royal Thai embassy/consulate, it would be a sticker (or e-visa), it is not to be transferred. You need to bring both passports until the visa expires.

If you mean you apply for any type of extension, it has to be transferred to the new passport. But be aware, your extension would be one of a shorter period of the specified period or passport validity.
