Many flights into Vientiane from Chiang Mai .. fly in morning apply for visa And fly out again the next day evening to give you plenty of time.

BKK Bank is quite easy for foreigners to open too. You can even do it on a tourist visa too

Elite visa if you don't mind spending the money.

A better option is to actually invest it in thailand then get an investor visa. You may actually get better returns than you would if you worked in Thailand.
