Hey guys i've been to Thailand for almost 9 months with a METV issued in Germany. Currently I'm staying in New Zealand till the end of the month over a 4 week period so im just wondering if I'm eligible to get a VOA at Suvarnabhumi airport to stay another 60 Days, (30+30) in Thailand before i move back to Germany. I could apply for a TR Visa in NZ but it seems like the Embassy is really picky here. Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, currently in New Zealand, is inquiring about the eligibility for a Visa On Arrival (VOA) at Suvarnabhumi airport to extend their stay in Thailand for another 60 days after spending 9 months there on a METV issued in Germany. Several comments suggest that while VOAs are not available for everyone, the user can enter Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption which can be extended by another 30 days at an immigration office. There are also suggestions to approach the Thai embassy in New Zealand for a TR visa, which is said to be manageable with the right documentation.
There is NO official rule on how many visa exempt entries a person can get when entering by air. MANY people have been questioned about entering on visa exempt entries, and a few (as in a VERY few) have been denied entry. NONE (as in not a single person) was denied entry because they were in thailand longer than a certain amount of time in a 6 month or one year period. They were all denied entry for being suspected of working here illegally, or not have proof of sufficient funds. Also all the people who were denied entry had EXTENSIVE histories of living in thailand on back-2-back visa exempt entries and/or tourist visas.
i already booked my fly back to Thailand and I'm also traveling with my gf (thai) and my mum so it's a bit difficult to take a stop in Australia. It would be completely fine if i could get that 30 day stamp at the Airport with the option to extend it another 30 days at the Immigration. The thing is just that i have read I'm only eligible for that Stamp if i wasn't in Thailand for less than 3 Months in the last 6 Month Period.
That's an OLD rule that was rescinded a LONG time ago.
In case you're asked, have proof of funds 20K baht (or the equivalent of foreign currency) in cash, have your proof of onward travel and you shouldn't have a problem stamping into the country..
