last time I sent money home, I think 2018, there was a new rule, that to send money out, you needed a work permit... Only way I could do it was via a Western Union transfer, in Bangkok Bank. I had to withdraw the cash, then goto the western union counter to do the transfer, but It wasn't allowed to send to an account of the same name, so I had to send to my dad and he transferred to my account. Not sure what the rules are now.
Thing is, with a 50,000 baht in-country transfer limit, how can you buy a car or condo?
you need to do as soon as possible. You might get lucky and they fix it, but in the past, they would only correct it if you spotted the error at the time...
seems to be only krungthai... Kinda annoying because the local one is 2 mins walk... I like Bangkok Bank but its 100km away... There's a local SCB, so thinking I'll switch the spends account from Krungthai to SCB
