My Thai fiance had her K1 fiance visa interview on March 28th in Bangkok. They kept her passport after the interview. It is now June 16th and still no approval, pending administrative processing, with no idea of when it will be approved 'or not!' Feedback appreciated!

During the K1 interview for USA they said we had to resubmit birth certificate and translation. We don't have original; we used a copy we got from Amphur office and certified English translation (online company). I'm not sure what they want. I think maybe need to Certify the copy of birth certificate. How do I do that? Has anyone run into this issue? Is there a place in Udon Thani that can help?

When a Thai woman gets divorced she must wait 310 days to remarry in Thai law . Does that mean you can not start a K1 visa for her to USA until the 310 days are up ? Or those the USA not care about the Thai waiting period ?

I am from the US and marrying a woman from Hua Hin. I want to have her visit the states and possibly stay for an extended visit. What are my visa options. How long does it usually take to get visa?

Long story short. I applied for a K1 visa iin early December of 2022, after visiting my Thai girlfriend for two weeks in early November, 2022. Does anyone know if USCIS will fail her interview because of lack of basic English? Her son is going to accompany her to help with translation when USCIS schedules her interview in the coming months. P.S. I know she will need to know basic English in order to become a U.S. citizen but it is necessary for passing the USCIS interview?

Hello everyone

We started the process for K1 visa for my better half. Haha but the wait time is 14 months. I came back to the USA to buy us a house to live in. I’m now thinking of coming back to Thailand for the remaining K1 visa wait. I was wondering would it hurt that I have no job in USA for us when we come to the USA My retirement meets all the money requirements of the visa.

Thoughts anyone

My Thai wife recently received her conditional US Permanent Resident card, via K1 visa. We are now preparing to change her surname, which is how it is on the USPR. The process seems a bit convoluted and I am hoping that I am just misunderstanding something. Has anyone here successfully done this? We are going to be in Thailand for about 2 weeks in the fall, but this doesn’t seem to be enough time to get it done, since it requires an embassy visit in Bangkok (to certify a certified copy of the marriage certificate, which we cannot even do until our fourth day there due to us arriving on a Saturday and next appointment being on the Tuesday) then translation of the documents (which takes 3-4 days) then traveling to Isaan to first file the name change in triplicate with the amphur, which will then allow us to process the name change for her government ID, and everything else.

Is there any way to do the initial part of this in the US (we are in NYC). Any help that can be given is appreciated.
