What are the current rules for staying in Thailand with a Non-O Multiple Entry Visa?

When entering Thailand with a Non-O Multiple Entry Visa (One Year Validity - Multiple Entries.)

Would it be a current Thai immigration rule that the holder of this Non-O Multiple Entry Visa (One Year Validity - Multiple Entries.) while in Thailand has to exit after 90 days and then re-enter to obtain another 90 day stamp for that re-entry.

Can this be a land border bounce, a land border exit and re-entry after a 24 hour stay outside Thailand, or requiring an outbound flight and then an inbound flight for re-entry to Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-O Multiple Entry Visa, which allowed holders to stay in Thailand for 90 days and then re-enter for another 90 days, is no longer available. Current options include a single entry Non-O visa that can be extended in Thailand. It has been pointed out that the Non-O visa is different from the Non-O A visa, and the latter does not require health insurance as long as the holder has an accompanying Thai national spouse. Visa validity and requirements, such as exiting and re-entering the country, must be clarified according to recent immigration rules.

That, Non OA is diffrent from my Non O. No health insurance needed. My wife, a Thai national has national health insurance. Me, nothing.

For minor ailments, we pay. If it gets serious, it is 5 hours flight to Japan where we have all possible health insurance.

Multiple Entry Non–O E–Visa is NOT an available selection at ANY Thai Embassy/Thai Consulate on the Thai eVisa Website

As ALL 94 Thai Embassies/Thai Consulates around the world now use only the Thai eVisa Website, unfortunately Multiple Entry Non–O E–Visa is not a possible selection on the Thai eVisa website

You can no longer get a multiple entry Non-O visa, only a single entry one which you can extend inside Thailand for 12 months by meeting the requirements of your local immigration office

@Jim ******
that's a re-entry permit, not the same thing as a multiple entry visa
Jim *******
Is it not? I thought that is the same. Non O visa is another stamp, on the same page in my passport. Whatever, I entered Thai October 29. 2025, with that. The only stamp was the date of entry, no comments, nothing hand written by the Imm officer.

it does give you multiple entries meaning you can leave and return as often as you like during the period of your extension of stay. But a Non-O multiple entry visa only allowed you to stay for a maximum of 90 days at a time then you had to leave and return (but that visa is no longer available)

this is an extension of stay not a visa

you are indeed

you did not receive a visa stamp when you entered. You just received a small flag-like stamp saying "admitted until" and a date in blue ink. This is a STAY PERMIT, not a visa. The visa you started out with, is mentioned under "visa-class" at the upper right corner, but yet, this stamp is not a visa

your Non-O visa is not a stamp. Your Non-O visa is a .pdf printout piece of paper document. The stamp you think is your Non-O visa, actually is NOT a visa, it is a stamp telling you that you were issued a 1-year STAY PERMIT. This stamp is an "extended stay permit". . . . and for this one-year stay permit, you can buy a multi re-entry permit on Immigration for 3800 Baht. The 365-days multi entry Non-Imm-O Visa got discontinued on most embassies by October 2023. READ your stamps correctly, this is what your alleged "visa" looks like, which is not a visa at all:

No, the one year 90 days Non O visa is removed from the e-visa portal but the Non O-A visa is allowing you to be stamped in for a full year or for as long as your insurance remains valid, whichever comes first.

Non-o multi entry no longer exists

Really, what did I get then with Non-O 1 year extension and a separate stamp multi-entry? Has that been merged? I came on it 29. October 2025, will leave Thai in 3 months and come back in May 2026.

You no longer have a non O visa. You have a one year extension of stay, based on a non O visa. Totally different than a multiple entry one year visa. But yes. You can buy a re-entry permit for your extension. Either single or multi. Still not the same though.

As other people have mentioned the Non-O 1 year multi entry visa no longer exists, but you can enter Thailand on a 90 day Non-O visa then approach immigration to buy a single or multiple re-entry permit for use during this 90 day period. Similarly after submitting and being approved for the 12 months extension you can also buy these single and multiple re-entry permits from Immigration, which will be valid during this 12 months period.
