I just found out that 90-day self reporting to immigrant is required for DTV. Is this the office that I have to go?
Chaengwattana Immigration Office:
The main office for 90-day reporting in Bangkok is located at the Government Complex (Building 😎, 120 Moo 3, Chaeng Watthana Road, Soi 7, Thung Song Hong, Lak Si, Bangkok 10210
Report on my trip to CW yesterday to apply for my second stay extension based on marriage to a Thai citizen.
Two weeks prior my wife went to Huay Kwang District office to obtain an updated copy of our marriage certificate ( KR2). Easy to do. She just had to show her ID card and a copy of our original certificate. And pay 20 baht per copy of course.
Went to Bangkok Bank in the morning before going to CW for my 2pm appointment. No problem to obtain the bank letter or statement. Didn’t have to fill out any forms committing to keep funds in my account for any period of time. I had kept a balance over 400k for more than 4 months prior anyway but it wasn’t mentioned.
Went to CW for 2pm appointment and was finished and out of the door by 3pm. Went like clockwork. All discussions were between my wife and the IO in Thai and the IO only comment to me was to recommend that I get a new passport before applying next year as my passport expires next September. Back in 21 days to get the extension inked in. Note that IO did not ask for the updated KR2. At the end of the process she took a photo of my wife and I jointly holding up a sign in Thai that my wife said it stated in Thai that we are married so that may have been the necessary confirmation that we are still married. IO stated that my wife could come alone on 15 August to get my extension inked in ( having observed that my mobility isn’t good) but confirmed that I would have to attend in person if I wanted to apply for a RE permit. She suggested that I apply for the RE permit at the airport when I leave which sounds like a plan to me.
In conclusion meticulous preparation paid off and I am attaching my homemade check list in case it helps others. Note for the family photos I provided 6 photos printed 2 per page directly onto glossy photo paper with captions below and she was quite happy with them.
Hi everyone, ive posted the same on other forum and as of now i have not receive reply from anyone that has gone thru similar situation.
We will need to renew our current retirement visa extension 45 days prior to the end of the validity date. Reason being, we will be out of country for 2 month in which the expiry date falls within the 2 months where we will not be in thailand.
We understand that only certain immigration office will process/accept renewal request within 45days in advance. One of them will be Chaengwattana Div. 1 (correct me if I'm wrong and appreciate some guide)
We leave in Rayong and the immigration office here will only process/accept request within 30days and not any earlier.
Questions:-
1) if we book a hotel in bangkok and get tm30 for 1 night or 2, will chaengwattana div. 1 office accept our request?
2) can we get the bank letter regards to our 800k a day before we send in our request? Or it has to be the same day as submission? We will also update our bank book the same day as the letter issued as we can do both on same day.
3) will we be able to get our passport back in the same day or it will take a working day which we will only be able to get it next day? Our 45days period falls on a Friday.
Your help and advice on this matter will be highly appreciated 🙏.
For those that are interested in the process, hope this is useful.
I received my new Australian passport at the embassy and current passport was marked as cancelled. I held Non-O Visa (Thai wife), now on first yearly extension of stay, and have multi re-entry permit. Extension & re-entry both from Chaengwattana.
Arrived CW 2pm Wednesday 28 May, was given ticket for counter L with 35 people in front of me. My ticket was called at 3:50pm.
Gave counter L my new & old passports, completed transfer form, with copies of requested documents on the form ([members only]).
Took 15 minutes to process, and then I was sent to the re-entry section. It was after 3:30 so I couldn't get a ticket number for re-entry counter, so just asked the staff in the re-entry section (hoping they wouldn't tell me to come back next day) and they then copied re-entry stamp into new passport also.
Whole process completed by 4:20pm.
I think it was helpful that the re-entry permit had been issued by CW, as the re-entry staff first saw an expired re-entry permit issued by Suvarnabhumi Airport, and were discussing between themselves about which office had issued the reentry permit.
I've attached copies of what the stamps in new passport look like, as they are like a duplicate of the original stamp, with a 'this is a correct copy' stamp and signed by immigration officer.
I sent a 90 day report by registered post on 12 March enclosing all documents listed on the immigration website and a stamped addressed envelope. I sent it to the address stated on the website. On the Thai Post tracking website it says it was delivered to Laksi post office. I sent it over a week before the due date. I haven't received anything back yet and the reporting window has passed. I tried phoning the numbers on the website but the 1178 one just says sorry all our agents are busy please call back later before hanging up and the other one says "for English press 1" and then starts talking in Thai and hangs up. I sent an email but no reply. Of course, the obvious solution is to slog it up to Chaengwattana but the whole point of doing it by post was to avoid that. Any suggestions? This was the first 90 day report at this address, this passport and this entry.
Good Morning, quick question: Retirement extension is possible 40/30 days in advance? Expires June, 2nd. I remember i was refused once as i was too early. CW BKK, thanks for a quick clarification.
When applying for the one year extension of stay based on the initial Non O retirement (90days) at counters L at CW - bangkok- we bring back the same lot of documents - housebook lease bank statement etc and get the passport stamped the same day or is there again a 15 days consideration period ?
Basically we get it the same day just planning one full day sitting there correct?
