Hi, I left my job in Bangkok and have moved to the south of Thailand.
My work permit has been cancelled and Iโve just received the cancellation paperwork from my boss, which I was told that I needed.
Do I need to return to changwhattana and get them to add the cancellation stamp to my passport or can I just go to the closest land boarder, exit and enter?
Iโll be going back to a Non-O marriage visa.
Many thanks ๐๐ผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the procedure following the cancellation of their work permit in Thailand, specifically whether they need to visit the Chaengwattana immigration office to obtain a cancellation stamp in their passport before applying for a Non-O marriage visa. They also ask if they can exit and re-enter Thailand at the nearest border after addressing the cancellation paperwork.

Ok, thank you for the reply. Looks like Iโm back to Bangkok for a few days.
Once Iโve been to Chaengwattana, can I fly domestically back to Nakhon Si Thammarat, then drive out of a boarder or will I have to leave immediately?
Thank you for the help ๐๐ผ

You may need to cancel the extension based on employment to apply for an extension based on marriage to a Thai, regardless of whether you get a new Non-O or not. In that case, you need to cancel the extension officially by using the letter from your ex-employer at the immigration office that issued the extension, it'd be the Chaengwattana office in your case, no other office.
Just leaving Thailand and coming back is not enough for this.
