Approval from Hanoi todayšŸ˜ƒ. Here is my experience for anyone interested:

Prior to leaving for Hanoi I filled in everything online and submitted:

Passport Bio Page

Passport photo

PDF of Screenshot of 1st page of October Revolut bank statement showing UKĀ£12k+ balance, the money in/out section & 3/4 transactions. Solely the first page. I also added to PDF a screenshot of XE.com current THB value of balance shown on statement.

5 letters from clients confirming I work remotely for them on freelance basis and stating that this work can be carried out in Thailand & also a freelance work contract(10 pages!) from another client.

Arrived in Hanoi at 9.15 last Friday and then uploaded photo of Vietnam arrival stamp in passport from the airport. Finalised application, submitted & paid.

Status went to Processing Payment immediately and about 2 hours later changed to Pending Document Check & a further 2-3 hours changed to Pending Approval.

As I already have a Non B visa & Work Permit I was worried they would say this needs to be cancelled before DTV approved.

Approx 6pm today receive Approved email. No other documents requested.

Fyi I flew back to Thailand yesterday(typical!) so now I need to do a border bounce to activate after cancelling Non B & Work Permit. This was always my plan as I did not want to stay more than 5 days waiting in Hanoi and also not have re-entry permit in place before departing just in case it was declined.

All in all a simple process. If you have the necessary docs available just submit and wait, dont stress! If it happens it happens, if they ask more docs then give what you can, that was my thinking and theory anyway.

Any questions please ask here no PMs please!

Hello all šŸ¤—

I see that there a lot of information here, but I would like to ask please for the documents needed for a DTV visa as a digital nomad, who works at a company (I mean employee as opposed to freelancer/business owner/else).

Will a work contact agreement (translated) be enough? Or will I need any other documents?

I plan to go to Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) in order to apply online for the visa.

Any information will help.

Thanks a lot in advance šŸ™

Good luck to everyone šŸ¤—

Hello everyone, I know this question has been asked many times before, but Iā€™d appreciate your advice just in case anything has changed. Iā€™m about to reach 2 months here in Chiang Mai, and Iā€™m looking to extend my visa (Iā€™m on a visa exemption/Colombian, which expires on October 27). Iā€™ve heard that Central Festival is a good place to get it done. Iā€™m aware the immigration office isnā€™t open on weekends, so Iā€™m planning to do this between tomorrow and Friday, early in the morning. Could you please guide me on the current process, what documents are needed, and any additional tips? Thanks a lot in advance!

DTV visa approved in Hanoi - Self-employed digital graphic designer (also day trading but thought to not mentioned it and apply with the simplestt option)

They will move to E-visa (may take longer to approve) but hope this post will help you regarding the docuemets anyways

* The funds was deposited into Krungthai bank same day as printing out bank statement (*2 days before appointment*) - the bank was opened in May, so it wasn't 6 months statement but also submitted Revolut along with it - The staff asked to open Krungthai bank app to show her the 500K is still in there the day of my appointment

* Got the bank certificate + notarized from the bank just in case (200Baht)

* Been in Thailand already almost 2 years- 1st year tourist + boarder run - 2nd year non-Ed

Document

1. Cover letter - mentioned self-employed - approximate income monthly- ability to work remote - keen interest to be staying in Thailand while working

2. 3 quotations + 3 invoices + 3 paid slips from the past work

3. 3 letter verification of services from last 3 customers (matching with customers from No.2)

4. Upwork earning certificate

5. Portfolio (my website + CV+Upwork profile screenshot) - 10 pages total

6. Letter of relationship and financial support from my parents (don't forget to show birth certificate showing they're your parents - I forgot but the staff was ok with it)

7. Bank statements (Krungthai - 500K- daily spending transactions (May-Sep) + Revolut - 2 transactions/ month (March - Sep)

8. Condo rent contract in Thailand + The owner Thai ID card + Tha bien ban

* Total of 55-60 pages of paper

* Try to be patient when submitting the paper work. Don't speak if they didn't ask - organize the pages according to their document requirement from A-Z.

Try to make everything easier for them, they will appreciate it. They deal with a lot of nonsense and people who showed up unprepared all day. I can't image the stress they faced on the daily basis. Be calm and be respectful, and they were very nice back to us.

* They speak perfect English

* Submitted on Monday 23 September -went to pick up passport 26 afternoon (the email came eventually but I already went to pick up my passport before that)

Thank you for everyone's info and answer from this group.

If you have any questions, I can try my best to answer.

Just got my DTV in Vientiane. I am a U.S. citizen. I used the remote worker option even though I am not your typical remote worker. I trade stocks, options, and futures. I have a registered company that I trade under. I work for myself and by myself.

The process could not have been any easier. I applied on Monday and got my visa on Wednesday. I gave them:

1. My company's incorporation paperwork

1. The yearly statements that my brokerage firm creates showing my profits and losses for the year

1. A letter on my company's letterhead explaining what I do and that I am allowed to work remotely anywhere in the world and that I own 100% of the company.

1. Copy of my drivers license to show my residence address

1. Copy of my passport biodata page, a copy of the page that has the Laos visa sticker, along with a copy of the page where the Laos entry stamp is (required!)

1. Cover letter listing all of the documents that are contained in the package

1. 6 months of bank statements showing that I had over 500,000 baht in the account EACH MONTH.

1. Visa application

1. 2 passport-sized photos

The lady at the counter looked at each document and read it. She took the 10,000 baht and told me to come back Wednesday. That was it.

The Thai embassy opens at 9:00am but by 8:45am when I got there, there were already about 60 people on line. The line goes quickly though.

The embassy staff were very polite and helpful. I was in and out.

Thank you to all of the people who posted in the group in the past. You guys helped me out a lot.
