The proposal to impose income tax on worldwide income regardless of it being remitted to Thailand on all those who are resident for 180 days or more irrespective of visa status has now reached draft proposal status this means the Thai government may well vote on this matter soon and make an announcement in the Royal Gazette. If this was to become law, "last man out, put the cat out" Since there are still 4 months till year end this could be implemented by 1st jan 2025.
So this is an intersting hypothetical having read the DTV requirements on the Thai embassy website.. Any insight would be appreciated:
I receive a military disability pension and as a result, am tax exempt in the U.S. If I am on a DTV, will I be tax exempt in Thailand as well if I stay over 180 days, or will I have to pay tax on my U.S. (tax free) income in Thailand?
