Hi we are on holiday in khao lak and we have not done a day five test as we have struggled. Is this something that is strictly enforced and what will happen if we arrive at the airport on the 25th with no day 5 test ? thanks in advance

Hello again everyone

Thanks for your help regarding submitting Day 5 covid test. I followed your advice & sent photos of negative test & passport to my Test & Go hotel & they did the rest … & confirmed having done so by email.

Hello Good Peoples,

I am coming to Bangkok under test & go and have already booked a Sha+ Extra hotel on Day 1. But I am confused about a few things.

Do I have to stay in the same hotel till the 5th day?

If not, can I book and perform my 5th-day test in Phuket?

How much time does it take to get the pass?

I will be applying for a Thai Pass tomorrow. So shoutout anything that I need to know.

The only purpose of day 5 test is scamming tourists and ruining their vacation.

You do a test 3 days before you arrive here and another one in the airport, both come back negative. You do another one in day 5, it comes back positive, and they think you brought the virus with you from your country or airplane!!

If you test positive in day 5. The greater odds are you caught it here in Thailand.

And if you catch it here from someone already roaming freely why on earth only new tourists have to quarantine?

Luckily I came here for long stay so it doesn't bother me that much but in the next room people who came here for 2 weeks with their family and now have to spend the rest of their vacation in quarantine!

We all took the risk to come here knowing this can happen. But most of us(Me included) wishfully think it's probably not gonna happen to us. But really, if you're not prepared for the worst it's better to wait until this nonsense is over. if you have to come during this time my advice to you is to be extremely careful until you get your second test results and avoid bars and crowded places at all cost.

Test and Go… so I was approved before the suspension of the original scheme and I see now it has resumed or will be resuming. Will I need to book a new hotel and day 5 test or just stick with the original negative test on day of arrival?

For those needing to do a day PCR test in Bangkok on day 5, I did mine yesterday at

Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital

02 220 7999

[members only]

It was very easy and only 10 mins from Chinatown/Silom. I went at 8am and was done by about 840am. The test can be done on day 5, 6 or 7, you need to take the pink form with you.

The only bad bit was the results come in at 4pm. I could not log into the system and tried every possible combination. I called them back and they were friendly and helpful but was hard to give them my name, date of birth, passport number, email address and telephone number over the phone. Took several attempts lol

I eventually got the results at 9pm... Wasn't the most relaxing evening.

But overall was easy and very organised. I had no issues taking the test. And after the test you can wake up properly with a traditional Thai coffee at the Starbucks attached to the hospital.

You need to be there between 8 and 9 am for same day results. I recommend 8 as it was getting busier as I left...
