Hello Good Peoples,

I am coming to Bangkok under test & go and have already booked a Sha+ Extra hotel on Day 1. But I am confused about a few things.

Do I have to stay in the same hotel till the 5th day?

If not, can I book and perform my 5th-day test in Phuket?

How much time does it take to get the pass?

I will be applying for a Thai Pass tomorrow. So shoutout anything that I need to know.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You do not need to stay in the same hotel for the duration of your initial 5-day quarantine under the Test & Go program. You can opt to stay at a different hotel for your Day 5 test, including locations like Phuket. However, ensure that your Day 1 booking includes your PCR test and transportation, and that you provide the necessary prepayment proof for both accommodations and tests when applying for your Thai Pass. The approval for the Thai Pass generally takes between 3 to 7 days.

when you book day 1 you are also required to book day 5 at the same time, and also show that it is paid for as well.

okay go it .. I am going with my friend but on Agoda, it shows only one PCR test while we are two-person..how does that work for Thai Pass?

You're not required to book at the same time, just submit to Thai Pass at the same time. Can be different hotels in different locations.

yes i know it is 2 different places as I am doing that myself next week.

The approval process for Thai Pass says it's between 3-7 days. Mine took 5 days - applied Tues morning and received approval on Saturday late morning.

All new TEST & GO applications must submit A proof of prepayment for 2 separate nights of accommodation at government-approved hotel/s, such as, SHA Extra Plus (SHA++), AQ, OQ, or AHQ on Day 1 and Day 5, and the expenses for 2 RT-PCR tests on Day 1 and Day 5. The prepayment for Day 1 must include an accommodation, a test and a prearranged transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Travellers can book 2 different hotels for the accommodation on Day 1 and Day 5. However, on both Day 1 and Day 5, they must stay within the room for the RT-PCR test result.

You do not need to stay in the same hotel for 5 days.

You can book your day 5 test in Phuket, through the PSAS website.

You'll need to upload your day 1 SHA Extra Plus hotel booking which clearly shows that it includes your first covid test and transportation from the airport.

Then there's a specific question on the Thailand Pass website that asks you to upload the paid invoice for your covid tests. You can normally ignore this in Bangkok because it's included in your hotel booking, but since you also want to use Phuket, you would then upload your day 5 test receipt from the PSAS website in this area.

Thanks a lot. I booked the hotel on Agoda with Test & Go package for the 1st day, including one PCR-TEST, but as we are going two-person, can I use the same booking for both of us ? or does it have to be 2 PCR-TEST while applying for Thai pass?

the booking must show the name to be accepted for Thailand Pass. So you'll either need to book another room the same way for the second person, or contact the hotel and ask them if you can pay directly to them to add a second person. Most hotels offer a discount for second person, but the cost of the Covid test is the most expensive part of the booking so the discount won't be that much.

how much is this Covid test?
Brandon ************
@Ham *******
usually around 2500-3000â‚¿ each

@Brandon ***********
okay… the hotel in Chiang Mai said it would be 4,000 baht … makes me wonder … if that’s a rip off perhaps …
Brandon ************
@Ham *******
4000 for the test or the the entire reservation? Every hospital charges different prices and each hotel is partnered with a hospital.

@Brandon ***********
I called the hotel and she said 4,000 for the pcr… I don’t know if she informed me correctly but she certainly said such. I’ll check around more. Thanks for the information!
Brandon ************
@Ham *******
it's probably more than Bangkok since there's lower demand and less competition. You may be able to find a lower price but not by much

hey Brandon ..my first day test is booked on bangkok under test n go but on the 5th day i have plan to stay at phuket and do the 5th day test .. but i am not able to see any packages like that on agoda ..can you tell me if i can apply for the thai pass without the 5th day confirmation or how can i make the 5th day booking .
Brandon ************

in Phuket you book any SHA+ Hotel (most hotels in Thailand are SHA+) and then you book your own test through the PSAS website. You'll use the receipt from that booking in the area of the Thailand Pass application that asks you for a receipt for your Covid tests for the Phuket test since it's included in Bangkok.
