Realistically, given that I submitted my application last Friday (the 4th of April) before the HCMC consulate opened in the morning.
That the first day doesn't count towards the business days for processing. Plus, that there's a bank holiday today and there's two more a minimum based on the HCMC's consulate holiday schedule for Songkran for the 14th and 15th.
I'm not likely to have my DTV processed until the latter half of the week of the 14th-18th?
😂 I feel like in hindsight, I should had done everything I could to try to get my application in sooner.
🤞 I don't want to sound like a downer, but I want to be realistic with the timing of things.
Please be advised that these are the closure dates where immigration offices around the country will be closed (other than weekends).
Monday 7th - substitute for Chakri Day
Monday 14th - Songkran holiday
Tuesday 15th - Songkran holiday
Wednesday 16th - Songkran holiday
This means immigration offices will be closed after Friday 11th and will re-open on Thursday 17th.
On Thursday 17th many offices will be absolutely hectic after a 5 day closure period. Try avoiding them if you possibly can.
If you have a stamp that expires during these closure days then go on the next open day to get your extension. You won't get fined but will get a stamp in Thai saying 'overstay x days fine waived due to closure'.
Airports and land borders are not affected and will be open normal hours.
Was just looking at flights to USA and back- second week of March to first week of April, and they are double what I usually pay. Is there something going on that is driving the price spike?
Tomorrow 1st May is “Labour Day”. A holiday for many but it is not a holiday for government offices. Immigration offices around the country will be open as normal.
US passport here 30 days exempt in Chiang Mai. I want to extend my stay at the Central Festival office. My hotel says I should wait until later on in my 30, but would like to do it ASAP. Thanks
