So i'm sure this has been asked many times before, but on the third page of the DTV application, they ask for a departure date. I assume this is for the 180 day stay period, as opposed to the full 5 year visa length?

Additionally, the hotel accomodation can only be booked a couple of months in advance, and I was planning to find more long-term accomodation once 'on the ground', but the visa application wants me to account for my full 180 day stay in the country. Should i just put down the initial hotel as the full 180 days, and play it by ear? Or is there an intended way to manage this?
Answer summary
In the DTV visa application, the departure date refers to the planned end of your 180-day stay, rather than the full visa period. Since the application does not require accommodation details for the entire stay, it is advisable to list your initial hotel booking for the full 180 days, even if you plan to find long-term accommodation later. Applicants generally report success by doing this, and it's crucial to ensure all documents, especially proof of funds, are accurate and complete.

Well, I can’t answer directly to the DTV application, but when I used to routinely complete the 60 day tourist visa applications I would write down the original hotel as the full stay period, even though I always moved to an AirBnb rental later. I never had any issues with that, so I would think you can do the same with the DTV application.

Yes. I put an approximately date I planned on leaving.

I also put down the address on the Hotel I initially stayed at.

The most important part of this application is providing solid, verifiable proof of income. That documentation needs to be accurate, complete, and beyond question.

My bank issued a statement at the end of July, can I combine that with an 'interim' statement for the remaining period?

The eVisa application does not ask for accommodation details for 100% of your stay
