Has anyone had experience going to Ho Chi Minh City and getting a Non-O or tourist visa there? Are they laid back or fussy about details? Any general tips also? I'm just considering where to go to renew my visa near Thailand, and Vietnam looks easy going. Cheers for any advice in advance! (Also is Vientiane back to normal with the Thai visa application process there?)
Hello I’m sorry if it has been asked several time but I need recent informations. I’m actually on a 2 months tourist visa, this is my first one. I’m going to Vientiane next week to ask for an other one. I feel confused about the required documents. If it’s helps, I’m French. Thanks 🙂
Hello! I'm thinking of applying for an SETV in Vientiane. May I know the pros and cons of doing it by myself or going through an agency? Thanks a lot! It will be my first time, so, any information about the process will be very helpful.
HELLO, Im new here, just wanted to run this by everyone. I was working with a non B visa until march this year. The business went under and I was out of a job, I did my first tourist visa to Savaneket without issue got the visa all ok. During the 2 months plus 1 month extension.I had I looked for a Thai language school as I wanted to student Thai and get a ED visa. I went to a School about half way through my visa, I was told its about a month to process everything. The school didnt do anything and then told me I should go do another tourist visa to give me more time. I went back to Saveneket as before, this time I was given a blue stamp above my visa. Remark The holder of the passport travels to Thailand under this passport port several times which may result in the refusal of a visa in the future. I was a little unhappy as this was only my second tourist visa In Thailand. This was also when the new visa appointment rule at Vientianne came into force , so a lot more people at Saveneket this time. I then got back to Thailand and found another school that I wanted to study with, all seemed ok paid the money and waited on the paperwork. The rules then changed again where as you could not apply for more than 1 language course at a time, previously you could apply for 2 at once. So another delay while the paper work was sent back and re written. In the meantime had to do a land border crossing which I got a month and then extended 1 more month at immigration in Bkk. I finally got the paperwork from the school and fly to udon and went over to Vientiane where I was refused my ED visa because they said they dont believe that I want to study and pointed at the stamp I had been given before. I said I only have 2 tourist visas all the other visas where Non b visas and the original tourist visa I got in the UK a 6 month tourist visa in my new passport. So in total I have been in Thailand for 9 years all on Non B visas, I went home for one year to save some money came back on a 6 months tourist visa that I had to prove savings and earnings for, then worked again on a Non B visa and then had 2 tourist visas and I did want to improve my Thai and student the language. I guess thats about it. Alot of people got rejected today also. I say at least 15 in a queue of 20. Nothing was put into my passport just handed back with the documents.
I'm currently in Vientiane and am applying for my second education visa. I've submitted my paperwork today and will go to the embassy tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately, between the time that my paperwork was prepared and when I arrived to Vientiane, small rules had changed and extra paperwork was required that my school and I didn't know about. What I expected to take just a week has turned into two weeks waiting for updated paperwork. It's been a bit of a mess and I'm very worried this is going to reflect on whether I get approved or not.
I was told today that I might have to have an interview with an official tomorrow to see how well I speak Thai. I regularly attended my classes and my speaking Thai is pretty good. But I've read around that they might also test reading as well which I'm not as strong at.
I've read so many things today from the past few weeks that many people are being denied education visas. I'm extremely nervous I'm going to be denied. I'm just wondering if anyone has recent experience with applying for an education visa at Vientiane and if so, what the interview was like.
Hi all, I am currently on non-imm O Thai wife visa (applied from Vientiane) extended 60 days at Chaeng Wattana. I plan to visit Vientiane again to apply. I have read somewhere that they do not accept back to back application. Can anyone advise on this?
