I don’t understand why the United Kingdom state pension is not index linked when you retire in Thailand , yet if I move to the Philippines it is , who makes these stupid rules and way , is there anyway around this ?
Has anyone recently claimed there UK state pension, mine is due this year, I have contacted the international DWP, and they sent me a form electronically which a lot of the questions I have no answer, I was told before I came here in 2023 that I could do the claim over the phone, I was also told this by the DWP in the UK before I came, is this still the situation, many thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi all, a question on behalf of my dad who's living in Thailand on a UK state pension.
He has come back to the UK after 6 years in Thailand and plans to stay here for around 6 to 8 months. He has let his residents visa expire in Thailand before coming back home to England.
If and when he returns to Thailand, will he permanently keep his pension increase that he will have received for over 6 months here?
Quick question for any UK expat who are receiving state pension in Thailand, is it correct if you ask the UK state pension department to send your pension direct to a Thai bank account, you will lose any uplifts to the UK state pensions in the future.
Immigration says it’s better to get letter from British embassy to prove I’m getting state pension, I phoned British embassy and asked could they give me a letter, The Woman on the phone said they have nothing to do with pensions.
