We are in Thailand on tourist visas and in the process of applying for guardian visas (pretty straightforward and our kids are on study visas and enrolled in an international school here).

Issue is, the company I shipped our personal belongings with from Canada is telling me our shipment is subject to duty and I'm expected to pay tens of thousands of THB before they release it? I did not know this and thought personal belongings were not subject to any tax. The shipping company says the only way to avoid this is to obtain a work permit. We did not plan for this...!

Any advice or insight please?!

Can you own a business in Thailand if you have a DTV visa?

Hi ... anybody seen what the new "Digital Work Permit" looks like ...that you can get / or comes with the new 10 year BOI LTR visa ?? I think it costs BHT 3000 per year ....and comes with an LTR 10 year visa ..?

Can you enter Thailand with a Tourist Visa and switch to a Non-B Visa within the country?

I’m about to change to a non b visa and just wondering do I have to wait for this before I can get my daughter a non o visa?

Also is your non b tied to one place? Or if I no longer work for one company can I get a job on the same non b elsewhere? I assume it’s the work permit which is tied to one company?

Good morning. I have a different expire date for visa and work permit. If a work permit expires without prolongation, can I still stay in thailand until the visa expires? Thank you🙏🏻

Hi folks, I'd value your advice on my Work Permit renewal. I am registered to work in Bangkok, where my company is based. However, I can work remotely for my job (as has become obvious with the COVID situation!) and as such would like to move to Chiang Mai. Do you know if it is possible to have a work permit renewal done in Chiang Mai so that I can work there for a company based in Bangkok?

Does anyone know with some companies why you need to leave the country to apply for a non-b when starting a new job whilst other companies you can transfer a non-b between companies without a need to leave the country?

Can anyone shed any light on reporting to immigration after weekend away to islands.

Numbers in Thailand always looks good for those who presented them. The TAT always have more tourist than the hotel branches who like Government support etc.

Immigration In north east of Thailand, also came out with some numbers of how good they do their work.

Just read it as information, it seems they do work even if the numbers are smaller of even bigger. Be careful out there.

In the period of 1st to 12th July 2,117 arrests were made of illegal immigrants (883) people on overstay (28), workers without work permits (44), those wanted on warrants (13) and 927 other unspecified violations.

Some 222 people were turned back at borders.
