Does anyone have experience of using a transit visa for multiple entries? According to the Royal Thai Embassy, London website - [members only] - a transit visa is valid for 3 months and permits 30 days stay, extendable by 30 days, so it seems good for people who like to travel around but don't meet the requirements for a multi-entry tourist visa.

Does anyone know if the 'Travel booking confirmation' needs to include flights in and out to cover all entries (e.g. maximum 4) or is it possible to apply with just 1 flight and out, and then come and go as you please during the 30 days (and the 30 days extension)? and does the 30 days reset each time you fly out and in?

I am Australian, flying Thai Airways and transiting through Bangkok airport on 24th July. I don’t need a visa, right? I thought I knew the answer to this (a definitive no) but some things I’ve read recently have spooked me.

I am hopefully entering Japan with a transit in Thailand for 6 hours, some time end of this month, and I had a few queries, if anyone could help.

1. I am using a self transfer flight from my home country to Thailand, and Thailand to Japan. Since it is a self transfer, will I be needing a transit visa for Thailand? The gap between both flights are 6 hours.

2. If I need a transit visa, will the visa be given on arrival or should I apply from my home country?
