Just had a message saying my UK 3G phone will soon be 'switched off '. I need a UK number for banking, and don't want to fly back just to buy a new one. Anyone had a similar problem before? Wondering if I can buy one here and swap sim! Thanks

Hi all. So I'm making a big plan to travel across Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia. I'm pretty sure I'm going to want an eSim. Anyone got any recommendations? Calls and texts are not really needed , the priority is data and lots of it! Ideally with 5G too but that's not essential. Cheers 👍

New phone, same Thai SIM, out of Thailand, access to BKB App ?

Hi there..

I am currently visiting familly in Switzerland for next 2 months, and I use my BKB App here with no problems. In my mobile phone bought in Thailand long time ago, I have my Swiss SIM card and my Thai SIM card (activated for international roaming before leaving Thailand, in case).

I would like to buy a new phone here in Switzerland, insert in it my 2 SIM cards (Swiss and Thai) and transfer 100% data from old to new phone. Does somebody know whether I will continue to be able to open and use my BKB App with my new phone here in Switzerland ? I am scared of BKB not "recognising" my new phone (yet still my Thai number SIM in it) and not allowing me to open and use the BKB App while here in Switzerland.

What is your experience or thought ?

Need some specific advice re cell phone plans.. Moving to BKK in July, will have phone paid off and unlocked.. Currently with ATT but their customer service is atrocious .. Will be using AIS while living in BKK.. I’ll have eSIM so can simply toggle back and forth between Asian phone # and American phone # when needing two-factor authentication for banks and the like.. that’s the only thing ill need my American phone # for.. My question is: Which American carrier can i switch to (away from ATT) to keep my American phone # active - with the cheapest plan that will work when needing 2FA ? Not interested in Google Voice or similar.. and not interested in paying $90 per month for an “international plan”, only the cheapest plan /carrier active enough to be able to receive 2FA ? I know this has been asked before and some of the apps can not be downloaded in Thailand. I need an app with a phone number to receive texts and calls to the United States. This has to do with my bank and SS. They do have 800 numbers. Receiving texts once a Mt is about all I need. Thanks for any help

I have internet banking with SCB on my phone.

Now I got a new phone and got all the apps installed that I need. When opening the SCB App it wants me to switch from wi-fi to mobile data to verify my phone number.

And here is my problem.

I'm not in Thailand at the moment.

If I put my ais SIM in my phone, switch to 📲 data outside Thailand, would I be able to register into the app or would it just block my account?

On the old phone I can use internet banking outside Thailand without any issues.

Any suggestions?
