Hi, all

I am using ED visa now. it will expire next month.

I hope to apply DTV by medical treatment.

I have had high blood pressue for long time.

I haven`t had any treatment from thailand. but I am having medicine from my country.

I read many posting but most of people apply by digital nomad and muay thai class.

Does anyone have a DTV by medical treatment?

what should I prepare for applying DTV with medical treatment?

please advise for my case.

Thanks and sorry for my bad english^^

AUSTRALIAN INFO:

I have some questions, NZ Citizen (NZ Passport), Aus Permanent Resident.

I am considering going to BKK for a Vasectomy Appointment. Will be one Appointment but can book in follow up Appointments x4.

My Questions for anyone that has applied from Aus.

1. What is the waiting time?

2. How many months previous bank statements were required?

3. How was the overall application process?

4. For medical applicants, how much documentation did you have to provide? Is confirmation of medical appointment enough, or do you need X amount of appointments?

I have used the search engine but nothing specific has been shown.

Any other Aussies with experience, feel free to drop a comment or DM.

Thanks to all in advance

Taipei DTV update:

Denied but didn’t have to pay. 💰 here’s the reason(i can reapply)

But it was for the most stupidest reason IMO.

For context I am American and applying under soft power - medical tourism

I was rejected my application… because the doctor wasn’t on the clinic’s website.

And I literally have no idea what to do now.

They were not helpful in literally just calling the clinic or accepting an email from their official company email.

They advised me to come back with the original stamp (which I have but no with me)

And to wait for a different supervisor (no idea why?)

She basically said different supervisors may allow for different things. Which is quite insane for an official application.

None of this is on the website by the way as they didn’t even understand the medical soft power initially.

So the moral of the story is

Take a gamble on the supervisor as to what documents are acceptable

BANK 🏦 STATEMENT:

Even stranger is they rejected my bank statement, instead asking me to login to my bank account website and show them the live balance.

Never in my life have I’ve heard of such thing

Has anyone got a DTV for medical tourism?

And, if so, what kinds of documents etc did you need?

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS

DTV VISA POSTS/QUESTIONS

We are not allowing "what consulate is easy" type of questions on the group. We are also not allowing questions about how to 'spoof' the eVisa system in your country so you can use it when you're not there. :/ Wrong group for those types of things sorry

There is a WIDE disparity of requirements between the consulates (often between the different thai consulates in the same country :O ) and it seems (from reports) that consulates are tightening up the requirements for this visa.

You people need to read the posts from other people, use the search bar to look for information and/or contact the consulate yourself.

The facts are this visa is just over a month old and I'd wager that far less than 1000 DTV's total have been issued world wide.

The questions you're asking the group and to the people who've been approved who were kind enough to share their experiences are often ones no one really knows the answers to.

I'm not saying don't ask them, I'm saying take into account what I said about the newness of the visa and the low number of people who have gotten the visa.

Unless you are the same nationality, using the exact same financials, applying for the exact same reason, you are unlikely to get solid answers that you can count on being followed at this or that consulate.

We have nothing against you people trying to get this visa, nothing at all. Thailand came up with it, they set the bar low for a reason, and you should capitalize on it if you qualify for it :)

We DO have a problem with you guyz/gurlz not doing your own research about the requirements at different consulates, the processing times, the cost differences, if you need an appt to get in the gate, etc. <- That is boilerplate stuff that you would need to do for ANY visa to thailand.

We will post success and rejection stories as they come in. Realize they are consulate situation specific instances and your mileage may vary .

Please STAY ON TOPIC, if someone posts about a specific consulate getting the DTV for a specific reason do not ask about another consulate or getting one for another reason in that thread.

We will try to steer you in the right direction as best we can, but with that being said, we will not spoon feed you information that can be found by looking at the website of the consulate you want to go to :/

Sincerely good luck to each and every one of you in your DTV endeavorz :) (y) (y)

Where is the best place to find accommodationin Bangkok in one of the nice condo units I see advertised in the modern units close to airport transport?

I have a shoulder injury and can’t carry luggage far.

I will stay about a week for hospital consultations, then go to the islands for a few weeks

I wanted to share some useful information:

I flew to Thailand 2 months ago to get a hip replacement. My last trip to Thailand was a long time ago. People on this site helped me with vital travel tips, because by the time time I arrived, I was in a WHEELCHAIR - (yes my condition got exponentially worse). I only knew one quick way to get started: I checked into a $30 hotel (The Palace), near Bumgrungrad, and went down there. After a visit I learned the surgery was $20,000+ USD. I knew I was simply reconnoitering and getting information. He told me to go to his alma mater, Ramathipbodi Hospital, for a better deal. It took me about 10 days to get things lined up (major surgery) at Ramathibodi: a lot of waiting, tests, etc. No other Fahrangs AT ALL - fully Thai. It wasn't so bad. I adapt and learn.

The doctor told me I had to check in WITH A FRIEND (who had to say in my room for the whole stay) or it was not possible. Since I wasn't in Thailand to recreate, and I was damn-near crippled, it looked like an Apollo 13 moment: complete failure. I went down to a legitimate massage place on Sukhumvit Road and within two days, I had arranged to have a nice woman (52 years old) - agree to help me. The doctor at Ramathipodi had already told me I needed to stay in Thailand 3 months. So first trip was to Immigration. My friend totally helped me, and major surgery is a sure-bet extended visa. After about 10 days of hospital visits, everything worked out. I was was 'fast-tracked' at Ramathipbodi Premium because I am an American and can affort $200/day hospital stay for 3 DAYS... I never saw one foreigner in over 2 weeks, weird. Surgury/stay/surgeons/prosthesis/care was 10K USD... email with questions.

I have a life-lone friend in Thailand now, and maybe could be advice to you if you need information.

Thank you everyone -

Caleb - USA
