Can I apply for a medical visa to Thailand for orthodontic treatment if I'm currently in Vietnam?

Hi, anyone could join Thailand with a medical visa recently ? Or know a reliable local agent ?

I started an orthodontic treatment (invisalign) at Smile Signature in BKK in 2019 and I am staying in Vietnam. I can’t pospone my appointments anymore because because I need an important bite correction and my clinic doesn’t have partnership in Vietnam. They also refused to transfer my case as it would involve a partial refund.

I’m able to go through the process, quarantine, etc. The question is, is my case covered by the medical visa, does it worth wasting time and money or should I rather wait until the borders open?

Thx for your inputs

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about obtaining a medical visa to return to Thailand for orthodontic treatment due to urgency in appointments. The original poster is currently in Vietnam and faced with a refusal to transfer their dental case. Responses suggest that a local dental solution in Vietnam may be more feasible and cost-effective instead of navigating the complexities of a medical visa and quarantine processes.

It would actually be cheaper to have your Visalign now done in Vietnam than to pay the cost of quarantine and the covid-19 insurance, and hotel after you leave quarantine, being you are already in Vietnam.

Invisalign is available in Vietnam. You should be able to find a provider who you can pay to take your scans only & then send them to your dentist in BKK.

This is probably the most cost effective way to do this.

Then BKK can just mail your adjusted retainers to you 🙂

Best to ask your dentist. I don't think it would be covered because part of the deal is you do the quarantine bit whilst you are in hospital undergoing whatever procedure you can in for.
