Has anyone recently extended their DTV at Pattaya Immigration? My first 6 months expire at the beginning of October and I’d like to know which documents are required for the extension.
Please don’t suggest leaving the country, if it’s really impossible to extend, I’ll take a short trip abroad, but otherwise I’d prefer to extend.
I am planning to apply a non o retirement visa from my home country. After staying 3 months in Thailand when i apply for extension do i need to have that 800 000b in thai account?
I know I need to show 500,000 baht in my account for my application. If my visa is approved and then I apply for a dependent visa for my child—do I need to show another 500,000 (so 1 million total), or is the original amount enough?
I am a 60- something in the US. I used to live in Roi-et, and am just starting to look into retiring there. I have a couple of basic questions: 1) from reading the info on the LA consulate page, I gather that if I have the 800k banked, I do not need to document monthly income. Correct? 2)since the bank account is required, this should mean I have to come to Thailand on the visa exemption first, then apply? and 3) if I were to start with a non-immigrant type O, can that be renewed or do I just start with O-A? Thank you for any information.
Allow me a question please... about retirement visa process for Americans... I'm over 50 and have pensions... my SSAN alone is over the 800,000 baht requirement...
Recently, I obtained a "pdf" soft-copy letter from the US Social Security Admin... Thai immigration says get the US Consul in Chiang Mai to authenticate it... I've contacted the Consul... but their automatic responses are as clear as mud...
Do I make an appointment for notary services or what? They have more info about what they will not do... than what they, will do to help citizens in Thailand.
Any Americans in Thailand who have dealt with this stamping/notarizing and accomplished this?
