I’m close to my 2 year window to go to retire in Thailand. Question, my spouse who just went to LA to Thai consulate to renew her passport made me think about this. Should I apply for a retirement visa in the US before I go or get an agent once I’m there? No experience with any of this.

Can we create a list about how many months of bank statements each embassy requires?

Seen so far:

Ho Chi Minh: 6 months

Yangon: 1 month

Vientiane: 3-6 months

Phnom Penh: 1 month

Hanoi: 6 months

EU: 1 month (Madrid 3)

US: 1 month

Jakarta: 1-2 months

This is undocumented by the embassies and will be a major reason why people get rejected. Many don't keep 500k cash in their bank account but have it invested into stocks, bonds, etc instead. Since broker account statements are not accepted, this rule can be a blocker.

I’m looking to hear from anyone from the US who recently applied online and got approved for a Non-O visa. I’m thinking my husband and I will want to apply this way so it’s one less thing to do once we arrive in Thailand.

I’ve reviewed the document requirements on the e-visa website but I wonder if there are any other documents you needed to provide that might not be listed. I felt that was my experience last November when I applied for the tourist visa. Kept having to provide more documents that weren’t clearly mentioned on the website.

It seems very straightforward as to what is needed. Just want to be as prepared as possible when we submit the applications.

I’m in Thailand already . Confused . Is this saying to leave and then reapply from the Thai embassy in the other country? This is my 2nd visit to Thailand this year. If I leave I won’t be able to return from the other country for 3rd visit will I?TIA

Hello all, when I change province do I need to let immigration know straight away or is that what I am doing when I go and do my 90 day report? Just trying to clarify so I don’t get a fine. Also I’ve never done an online 90 day report , can I do that having changed to a different province? Thank you all this group is so helpful 😊

Hi, I made a new passport and now I need to transfer the stamp to the new passport at immigration. When I picked up the passport at my embassy, I asked for the document from them, that I have a new passport.

They said it’s not needed anymore!Just go with the old and new passports and it will be ok!

Is this true?

I always needed a document from my embassy in the past when going to immigration to transfer a stamp.

Thanks

First I would like to thank everyone in this group for sharing valuable information. I just want to say that Mae Sai border is open again, I got 45 days. There is an option to stay 14 days in Myanmar in the area of Tachileik. Have a good day everyone.
