Hi everyone. I am on a teacher's 90 day non-B visa. Work permit ready to collect next week. Visa expires November 15th. Is it possible to get the visa extended locally without leaving Thailand? If so, how?

I'm in the process of assembling the necessary requirements for a retirement visa. Two questions:

(1) Immigration's requirement is to have 65,000 THB coming into your bank account for the previous 12 months. For the last 12 months I have had over 65,000 THB coming in to my Thai bank account every month *except one*. The previous month to the missing month I had 200,000 THB coming in. When I work out an average for the year it comes to around 85,000 THB per month. Will this meet immigration's requirements of 65,000 THB per month? Do they look at the average or each month in turn?

(2) The requirement for a retirement visa is to apply while holding a Non O. At present I hold a Non-B as I am working. Will this matter?

Thanks, Andrew

Hello group! Quick question!

I just sent my current Passport to my Embassy in Bangkok to request a new one, as I have only 2 blank pages left in it and planning to travel to a few different countries in the upcoming months + renewing my thai visa extension (Thai spouse), which, as we all know, takes a whole page or 2...

My thai visa extension based on marriage to a thai spouse is in the old passport (obviously!) and expires at the end of October. I will probably get the new passport within the next 3 to 4 weeks (probably mid-september).

My question is: Once I get the new passport (along with a letter from the Embassy that asks Thai Immigration to transfer my current visa to my new passport), do I need to go immediately to Chaeng Watthana Immigration, or can I wait until it's 45 days until my current visa expires, so I can 1) transfer the old visa; and 2) request a new extension at the same time?

Kind of a weird situation, I don't know if anyone has ever been in this situation? Thanks in advance for your help! Cheers!

Moving jobs and obtaining a new extension of stay based on employment. Usually will cancel one extension of stay and wp and obtain the new extension of stay and wp the same day. However, in this instance the paperwork for the new wp and extension of stay can be completed on the same day as my existing extension of stay expires. I presume this is fine or do I need any stamps from the immigration office for my expiring extension of stay as I am using a different immigration office?

There are unconfirmed reports coming in that the thai consulate in Yangon will issue year long, multi-entry Non-O visas based on marriage to at thai without proof of funds (like Savannakhet, Ho Chi Minh City & Seoul).

If anyone has used the thai consulate in Yangon for that visa and can back up these reports please let me know.

It'd be good to have another consulate that will issue that visa without proof of funds.
