METV VISA For Thailand in Laos process. 🫡

I got myself METV VISA, APPROVED today. It is electronic, 20k show at airport, 5k application fee, 24-48 hour approval. All uploaded documnets must be clear, shows your name with your finances. Financial proof will have to be in collage format.

Print out your payment paperwork (Very important/ will have barcode. Show at payment counter). You *MUST* have Thai Baht. You *WILL* get turned away from counter and must re enter line without the print out. Your phone evidence won't suffice. Your approval letter with barcode is your electronic vis passport.

Your approval letter will more than likely come between 9 and 11 a.m. lol perfect time for a extended day if you miss the email before checkout time. So book hotel a day short. Important they switched everything electronically. You won't need to go back to the counter to get any stamps, pay extra fees or anything. I know gpt says to, but it's false. Print out your approval letter and that barcode is what immigration will scan. I will update if they can scan the code on the phone.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post details the process of obtaining a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) for Thailand while in Laos. The visa is electronic, costs around 5,000 THB, and approval typically takes 24-48 hours. Important notes include the necessity of clear documentation, such as proof of funds in collage format, and the requirement of a printed approval letter for presentation at the airport. The author stresses the importance of carrying Thai Baht and highlights that electronic processing has eliminated the need for stamps or additional fees at the counter.

Did you apply in your home country?

I agree with the moderator. You should edit your post and let everyone know that this is the procedure when applying from Laos. Otherwise you are just confusing people. Because I am also currently in Thailand on an METV which I applied for in my home country(USA) before I left and this isn’t how it worked. With all of these asterisk marks and capital letters that you’re using in your post you are trying to make it sound like this is how it works for everyone and that’s simply not the case.

You burned a (60+30) 90 day Tourist Visa for METV of the back. If so kudos 👏🏾 to you bud!!.

What on earth are you talking about? I didn’t burn anything. I plan on spending more than 90 days in Thailand this winter. Now I don’t have to worry about visa exempt border runs and immigration issues because I have a proper visa. Your reply makes no sense.

I agree some have to go home. I understand the Forex market. I learned and mastered technical analysis. I'm a wizard at it. So I thought to myself. I'm not in a rush to go back. I'm actually cruising to live everywhere and anywhere.

Thank you for a great post. We have METV visa as well. No requirement to print it out but we did anyway. Immigration only looked at our phone copy. No need for proof of funds but we had it in case we needed. Didn't ask for return flight either but we had it. This was at Bangkok Airport. Likely slightly different process as we did in Canada before we left. We had our TDAC done online as well and was not asked for it as it is linked through immigration already. Very smooth process.

STOP spreading misinformation. This is ONLY for Laos. You pay online everywhere else. In Vietnam you pay online. In Cambodia you pay online. In Malaysia you pay online. It's only Laos.

The thing he's referencing as must be printed is specific to Laos. After you apply for the visa online, you must wait for them to send you a confirmation with barcode. You print that and take it to the embassy or consulate where you applied between certain morning hours to submit payment for your visa application.

Seconds after your application is submitted you get the page with your barcode. You can also find it under manage application on The Thai E visa website.

Is this about Laos? I don't know of anywhere else you would actually go and pay.

Yes Laos! Any Thai embassy in another country would follow the same criteria for METV Visa and above.
Brandon ************
@Jason **********
Same criteria possibly, but not the same procedure. The embassy and consulate in Laos is the only place where they will send a confirmation that you print and take to the embassy to pay. Everywhere else accepts online payment for the visa.

You should edit your post to include the specific Embassy or consulate that you used, whether it's Vientiene or Savannakhet.
