Right everyone… I’ve been to apply for the DTV visa in Penang, Malaysia…
I have to go to KL to get a stamp from the UK embassy on my employment confirmation letter. For some reason payslips, a contract, and employment confirmation letter isn’t enough.
It must be stamped by a UK embassy or by your company(original document with stamp). I assume this will apply to anyone who is applying is person.
The documents needed are as follows for those applying for the workation option:
-Visa application form (you can fill this out at the embassy)
-Proof of 500,000 THB (I used PayPal statements)
-2 Passport sized photos of yourself
-Employment contract
-Employment confirmation letter with a stamp from your company or home countries embassy.
-Passport
It seems like they are ensuring there is no way people can lie about their employment or whatever with this measure… it’s a logistical nightmare though.
I recommend anyone coming to Malaysia to just apply in Kuala Lumpur as your embassy will likely be located there (check before hand)
I also called them to ask if I can provide any other documents instead of having to go to my embassy and they said no. 🙃
