Sharing info

We got DTV via Ho Chi Minh City.

Made booking 2 weeks ago via thai embassy’s web in HCMC.

Submitted all documents Mon, 26 august. Received DTV Wed, 28 Aug.

DTV workcation requirement that we submitted:

- work contract agreement with mentioned eligible to work remotely

- 6 months bank statement with transaction details not less than THB 500k in foreign currency

- house rental agreement in thailand - which we provide willingly to indicate our current location

- photo

- copy passport

- form application that you can get it from the visa office/ print it via by downloading on web

- cost U$340 - make sure the money is smooth and new. They are very particular on it

Spouse of DTV workcation

- marriage certificate in english

- local identity that stated in the marriage certificate

- 6 months bank statement with transaction details not less than THB 500k in foreign currency

- photo

- copy pasport

- form

- cost U$340

Btw we also tried via Singapore before, but please noted its not recommended.

Even though it’s more organized that you can submit online, but the requirement more complicated on top of basic requirement, i.e:

- letter from company address to thai embassy in singapore

- company registration in registered country

Good luck!

we used to lived in singapore before.

Yes singapore passport holder can apply, in fact majority passport holders can apply.

We tried DTV via singapore, but its gotten complicated as the thai embassy asking for company registration from ACRA, rental agreement in singapore & thailand, company letter with salary addressed to thai embassy in singapore (not just general company letter)

Hi! May I ask how you filled out the application form. I tried to go to the evisa website but it said not eligible. Is there a paper form I need to fill out when I get to the thai embassy in HCMC?

hello, the print out form is also available at the embassy there.

We didn’t print out either, so we just ask for it.

Congrats! What's "local identity that stated in the marriage certificate"? You need to be Vietnamese to apply in Vietnam?

we are not Vietnamese nor staying in vietnam.

We just visit here to apply for visa.

In our marriage certificate stated our local identity number.

So we just provided the local identity card copy - so they don’t ask further questions

匿名參與者 thanks for reply . Do you know if I apply with my kid . Did she need 500K saving in bank also? I applied online in Hong Kong and got rejected. The reason is my saving not enough 500k (but actually I had over 500k in bank) . Thai embassy said I should show every pages of passbook for them. Now I consider go to Ho chi Ming Thai embassy to apply again.

sorry i have no idea.

You could try to email them, they dont respond fast, but in 4-5 working days.

Yes we printed all our e-statement bank transactions in 6 months, because the requirement wasn’t clear, so just did it anyway.

I wish you a good luck!

Sorry for so many questions, but do you know if they accept walk-ins? I took a look to book an appointment and there is nothing available for a couple weeks

i dont think so.

The guard outside was asking us to show the appointment email.

Alternatively you might want to look for agent.

I saw someone engage agent and skip all queues.

At the end the docs got rejected anyway

Anonymous participant sorry can’t answer.

But we were just thinking to provide it.

I think try provide whatever contract you have in wherever you are.

Don’t show it to them, unless they ask for it.

They will screen all documents and tell you what missing on the spot.

Make sure arrive 30 minutes early.

The queue is quiet chaotic and i see so many people arguing with the visa officer on missing some documents on the spot.

If you miss some documents, they will give you paper to submit the remaining docs without queuing at the same day / day after

Anonymous participant you mentioned they want to see a document of your current location? I don't have rental agreement in Thailand. You think that will be a concern?

Thanks for sharing!

I too faced complications applying in Malaysia. Requirement kept changing on every follow up appointment. I gave up and applied in Hanoi instead. Received my visa in just 2 days.

Ho Chi Minh replied to my email regarding this question. No, not required to deposit the funds for 6 months. Money only has to be there on the day you apply BUT you do need 6 months of statements showing transactions.
