TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa based on visiting family in Thailand, applicants must provide specific supporting documents, such as a letter from the Thai family member, their identification cards, and proof of relationship. It's important to select the correct visa subtype on the application to avoid complications. Some applicants have experienced rejections due to incorrect documentation or requirements not being met, such as needing hand-written letters from family.
I got my wife to print out a letter saying I was staying with her and our daughter. Got her to scan it with her ID card on the bottom and it was rejected.
Was told it needed to be hand written, still with her ID card on it.
You selected the WRONG Thai E–Visa Subtype on the Thai eVisa website....
Looks like you want to get the Non–O Married to a Thai Wife: or, on the Thai eVisa Website it is = Non–immigrant (O) To Stay with Thai Family Residing in Thailand (more than 60 days),
BUT, you had most likely INCORRECTLY selected Non–immigrant (F) Family or Dependent of Diplomatic Officers/Officials based in Thailand
Do check and verify again that you had selected the correct Thai E–Visa Subtype from the initial window/menu

LA Thai embassy asked for a letter from Thai family... relayed this info via Whatsapp and received a letter within an hour.. uploaded it to LA Thai embassy.. approved later same day.
thanx for that, I was going to say it's just a short letter from the thai family saying please issue this visa blah-blah-blah 🙂

Number 5 doesn’t apply to you.
That section is generally intended for Diplomats or officials applying through embassies or international organizations or Applicants involved with official government missions or People sponsored by Thai government agencies or international organizations.
What they could be looking for is a letter from your Thai family member, their ID cards and proof of relationship.
