Hello, does anyone know if when I apply for my DTV I can apply for both mine and those of my dependents (wife and children) together in the same process, or would I have to apply for mine first and once approved I could apply for my dependents' visas?

Somebody tells me the process of DTV cancellation..

- is that possible to cancel in Chaing Mai Immigration? If not, we have to go to Bangkok Immigration..

- What documents is most necessarily? Eg- all the documents what we had applied for the DTV before..

- How long it took time in waiting to complete the cancellation process?

Thanks each of you who has attention on my questions.. 🙏

Hi everyone, looking for advice about getting a child dependent visa.

My daughter is 1, born in Thailand (not Thai). My visa supplied by an international school. Was advised that we didn't need a visa for her as she cannot overstay but the last time we entered we were held up for half an hour and told very sternly by immigration that we must sort out her visa. Apparently she cannot have certain types of visa as she is under 3.

Is there any way of doing this from inside Thailand and we're about nervous about getting back in again! Also the visas my work have suggested are only valid 90 days so don't seem like a straightforward option if we need to keep leaving to renew them.

Very grateful for any advice, thank you!

Hello! In February, 2023, I have plans to apply for a new non-O retirement extension (this is my “normal” time to apply) intentionally using a passport which expires in January, 2024. I do this because I’d prefer my extension application date to be a few months earlier than it currently is, and I think(?) this will accomplish that - I believe they will only give me this next extension up to the passport expiry date.

However, I think I just read that immigration adopted a new policy in August, 2013 which requires me to start the entire visa process over using the new passport; this implies that simply going to immigration with both passports and requesting they transfer the stamp is no longer an option. As I’ve seen discussions on stamp transfers, I suspect this is incorrect information(?).

I will apply for and receive a new passport while in the US. Assuming the information in my second paragraph is incorrect, other information via Internet suggests that no embassy letter is required when I go to transfer the extension stamp as long as my arrival stamp is in the new passport. So, I would arrive in Thailand carrying two passports, desiring that the official put my arrival stamp in my newer passport. Will that occur automatically once I point out what’s going on, or will I have to try and convince the officer to do this?

As you can see, I’ve some conflicting information and it’s my first time renewing passport while on a long-stay visa and I’d appreciate your expert help in ironing all this out. Thanks much.

Looking for advice for obtaining US B2 visa from Thailand:

I am a Brazilian citizen and I was selected for a short course in the States in mid May. Would also visit some friends while there.

Between Bangkok US embassy and Chiang Mai US consulate, which one offers highest chance of a fast processing/issuing visa?

Also, is it recommended to hire some sort of agent to help making this process quicker?

(Adms please delete if it's not on the scope of the group)

Thanks!

Went to immigration for the covid extension in Chiang Mai today. Business as usual. About 35 people ahead of me in the queue and I was there about 90 minutes. Was given the “under consideration” as I have every other to time

For those who have been using MTT here was my experience @ CW today....

Arrived @ 7:30 am to close the loop on my latest 60 day extension. Don’t be fooled by the empty building....I was number 149 in the queue despite arriving before 8 am.

Head around to gate 2 from the entrance and you will see an information table set up...the immigration officers were really helpful and friendly.

The process is much more streamlined that MTT and you will receive a queue number that corresponds with a seat number. Find your seat, wait and then just follow the queue around to the main desk where they will give u another queue number for the appropriate counter (j) which is to the left.

Business started at 8:30 and I was out by 9.15 am.

I just closed my under consideration stamp for an extension with embassy letter at MTT and got a stamp 30 nov. 🎉🎉

It was quite smooth, 20 minutes only, and no one asked for the online appointment. But I recommend to do one just in case....
