Hello, I am starting a remote job with an European company beginning of next year.

So can I already apply for the DTV now please?

Will it be an issue if my Thai address is stated in the employment contract or shall it rather be an address outside of Thailand?

Can I submit the employment in its native language with an English translation please?

Thank you in advance.

Does anyone know if you can keep extending every 6 months for the 5 years or you can only do 6 months in a calendar year one time?? Would love some clarity on this issue ....

Hi folks,

I qualify and can prove that I work for a multi national company remotely and can show finances etc.....

1. I'm thinking of applying at either: Vientiane, KL, or HCMC embassies. What is the preffered ?

2. Is applying for DTV having had multiple marriage visas frowned upon or can be flagged for any reason ?

3. We have a house in Thailand in my wife's name and myself as gaurantnee on a mortgage document from about 18 years ago. Address is also on my thai bank statement. What is required for a non hotel address ?

4. Is proof funds from my thai bank account ok ?

Thanks in advance

It's clear that Taipei's dtv visa review is getting stricter. They're starting to ask for 6 months of transaction details and also take a closer look at each transaction details. If they have any doubts about the transaction details, ask if you can open the bank app and show them your transaction details. taipei still definitely the fastest place to issue, but I think there will be more cases of rejection in the future. i don know why but saw 2people were rejected at the application counter in the morning.

Situation:

Visa: DTV1 Workcation (remote worker)

Home country Germany with double taxation agreement

Centre of life Thailand (significantly more than 180 days per year)

According to the double taxation agreement, Thailand is entitled to income tax. However, in practice, the employer in my home country pays income tax as if I were staying in my home country, right? If I file my tax return in Thailand, I only pay the tax difference, right?

What about social security contributions? In my opinion, there is no longer an obligation to pay social security contributions (statement valid for Germany), so no such contributions are paid. At the same time, of course, I take out health insurance and pension policies myself on a private basis.

Everything correct or any objections?

I would like to tell you my experience out of the Los Angeles embassy. I just received my DTV e-visa today on Oct 30, 2024. I first applied as a remote worker on September 11, 2024. On September 27, 2024 I received an email that said this: "Your visa application has been rejected. Please reapply visa, the name on the application is incorrect." I am certain it was correct, so I was kind of angry. I advise everyone to take screen shots of every page as you fill out the application and double and triple check it and make sure it is correct. On October 3, 2024 I paid another $400 and applied again making absolutely sure it was correct. On October 4, I got an email requesting further documentation. They wanted my most recent tax return and business registration of the company. The tax return was no problem, but the business registration was a problem because I am not a business owner, I am an employee! A few days later, I sent them my tax return and a letter from my employer stating that I am permitted to work as a remote worker. I did not send the business registration because I didn't have access to that as an employee. A week later I got another request for a business registration even though I explained I am not the business owner. Luckily, I was able to obtain a seller's permit from the California State Board of Equalization from my employer and sent it off to them. A few days later I received my DTV. If you are applying for this visa as a remote worker employee, make sure you have access to a business registration of your employer or you will probably waste $400. Once again, also make sure to enter all the information on your application correctly, or that will cost you another $400 also.

Hi all,

My contract with IT company state that job location is Berlin. But internal company policy allows to work 2 weeks from abroad. I have an email from my boss and message in the HR ticketing system to prove that I was granted with 2 weeks working from Thailand.

Shall I attach these into the application or wait if they will ask. Also is two weeks remote working per year acceptable ?

Cheers,

P.

Is it true now that once registered we no longer have to te register if returning to home base in the Kimgdom? I read this and it would be great not to have to re register after every 3 to 4 day trip! [members only]).
