Hi all I'm a bit confused at how I open a Thai bank account before applying for my retirement visa? Have I read that wrong? Do you go over on holiday and open one but I read somewhere you can't open it unless you have a visa?

Also is it advisable to use an agency to do everything for you?

Can anyone please advise regarding getting the marriage spouse visa.

I’m just getting my marriage certificate done with my wife this Friday.

The immigration officer from Chaengwattana has asked me to :

1. Firstly, extend my tourist visa (expiring on Sept. 30th) and then later

2. Get an extension for ‘visiting spouse visa’ so I can later apply for the marriage visa (non-o)

A bit confused and wondering if anyone went through something similar?

We have just been checking the immigration website for registering a friends property for TM30.

Yet it seems it is for business (which I assume is hotels)

I was looking for a section which required the blue book number of the house owner as well as her ID card.

Has anyone also looked into this?

We will be staying at my wife’s friends house and although I will complete the DTAC arrival card stating I will be staying there, she would have to complete the TM30 still?

As I apply for a retirement visa I understand that the cost of the health insurance the Thai embassy want is very high. Something between 60000 Bhat to 80000 Bhat yearly.

Is that so?

Do you have maybe other options?

My Non-O seems stuck in "Processing pending document check (1)". It's been 7 days since payment at Washington D.C. Am I expecting too much speed?

When entering Thailand do you need to physically present your DTV on paper or is it enough to enter it on the tdac form?
