Dear community,

I am contemplating to apply for a DTV softpower Visa.

I wanted to commit to a six month course but read a few testimonies that, when re-entering Thailand, some were asked to show a valid course.

So I am wondering if I should rather find a 1 year or 2 years option in order to travel in and out without worrying about this.

My question: Was any of you asked to show a proof of a valid course when re-entering Thailand after the first 6 month?

I would be very grateful for some insights and advice.

Thank you

For Ho Chi Minh embassy applications from Da Nang, do they require 3 months or 6 months evidence of 500,000 baht currently?

Any insights on going about a name-change after visa has been issued? My partner and I have the DTV already but are planning to get married and I'm unsure about the process or possibilities if I choose to have a legal name change and want to keep my DTV.

Any leads?

Hello everyone, I’m applying for the DTV Freelancer category. Can I submit two bank statements, both in my name, or is it better to keep all the funds in one account?

UPDATE - request for additional docs came late today - Request for bank balance . Had submitted it previously so have resubmitted and highlighted the balance which exceeds the 500,000.

I thought that once I submitted the Application I would be less stressed. I was wrong....waiting for them to process the application is just as stressful :-) Submitted and paid Sunday. No progress yet ...yes I know it is only Tuesday but other applications seem to be getting an additional document request within 24 hours ( applied Hanoi)

Hi,

I'm planning to apply next week for the DTV soft power in Hanoi.

I'm currently on a non-b with work permit, but have stopped working. My employer says they will only cancel the work permit when I go abroad next week and that my current visa will then be automatically invalidated. Is this correct? I read online that I should go to immigration to cancel my visa on person, but this might only be the case when you are in Thailand on the moment you cancel?

Has anyone recently went from a non-b to DTV in Hanoi and can they advise me on whether they require any extra documents on this?

Thanks in advance!

Any questions/documents I should prepare for airport immigration when entering with a DTV?

For example, do they ask "what is the purpose of your stay" and "how long you will be staying" etc

Is there a good way to answer these if so?

If I get the 7 day denied visa, can I do an annual extension after that during the 7 days?

I'm missing 1 document to do my annual extension (ownership title of the house) and a local witness.

I

I applied for a non-O visa from USA over a month ago. My flight is next week. I’m starting to worry. Evisa site says documents have been reviewed and it’s “pending approval”. Just emailed them to find out what’s going on. Is this normal?

💡 DTV Visa Tip: How to Prepare Financial Proof the Smart Way

Just want to share a quick trick from my experience helping clients apply for DTV visa.

Even though the rule allows you to combine multiple bank accounts to reach 500,000 THB balance — from my experience, putting all the funds into one single bank account gives you a much higher chance of getting approved.

Why? Because imagine you’re the officer reviewing your application online.

When they open your documents,

what do they want to see?

✅ A clear, simple statement that says

“Here’s the account, and here’s

the ending balance over 500,000 THB.”

That’s it.

No confusion, no extra matching between different accounts, and no unnecessary

questions like “where did this money come from?”

A few quick notes:

🚫 Don’t include crypto, digital assets, or e-wallet balances — they don’t count as financial proof.

💳 If you show multiple accounts, it usually takes them longer to review, and sometimes raises doubts even when you meet the requirement.

So if you want to make the process smoother keep it simple, keep it clear, and keep it in

one account.

Hope this helps someone preparing

for their DTV visa.

Good luck everyone! 🌍✨
