Got my DTV approved in taipei through soft powers. It has been a hell, they require you to be employed and show dozens of documents (work contract, certificate of employment, company license authorized with seals, pay slips going into your account, certifications from the gym that are out of ordinary). Despite of showing them all (plus a bank account with 1M) I still got an interview (which took place 2 weeks after submitting the documents for the first time) which felt everything but relaxed with most of the questions related to my job (I applied for soft powers but it doesn't seem there's much difference here). It might be better than malaysia or japan but do yourself a favor, don't apply here. I repeat, don't apply here because they are extra picky. ps: if you think you still wanna get a shot cuz your documents are perfect plz read what I wrote above, avoid this embassy

I went to multiple branches of Bangkok bank today, but they all refused to open a bank account with my DTV visa, does anyone know any branch where I can open an account?

Also on my entry stamp with they put a date for six months only, I thought this visa was for five years. I got it directly from the consulate without using an agent so I’m completely unaware. How long can I stay in the country and I how often do I have to leave the country and is it mandatory to purchase health insurance? I’m sorry it’s a lot of questions, but any assistant will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for advice.

My dad is 70 and planing to travel back to Thailand for long term stay. Which category of visa he needs to go with it?

He is retired, pretty healthy, no income but 6 of his children in US can support him financially. I heard retirement visa is hard to get for him and I just curious if DTV is a little bit more flexible and easy for him.

Thanks for reading my message!

I have a roundabout Thai visa question. My Thai wife of 45 years has owned a few houses in Thailand. One in NamPhong and 1 or 2 in Nakon Phanom. But I have never seen an ownership document like a Property Deed - โฉนดที่ดิน. So I was wondering where she could get that document. ( she isn’t very good with paperwork). So if I secure that document, I was thinking of applying for a 1 year non-immigrant visa to visit my wife ( family) in Thailand. We are both in Florida currently, but technically we would fly to Thailand together and then I would be visiting her. I have had 3-4 non-immigrant visas in the past but over 10 years ago. It seems that the TM 30 is more important now than in the past and maybe I could be put on the House Registration that would simplify the TM 30 process. Good idea or some other alternative???

Hello all, has anyone encountered any issues during a visa application when submitting proof of funds from a Credit Union account rather than a 'high street' bank?

Hi all, regarding "document indicating current location", I assume that means a utility bill/bank statement or something similar? I don't have anything with a proof of address as I dont have a permanent address. Does that immediately disquailfy me from applying?
