I guess just because they provided 3 or 6 months of bank statements doesn’t necessarily mean they had over $500k sitting in the account the whole time. They might’ve just moved the money in, and it only stayed there for a couple of months.
In my case, my funds have been moving between my savings account and term deposit account over the past six months. I think their accountant should be able to see that in the statements and understand the situation — hopefully that’s enough to get me a pass.
If the embassy responded promptly—or at all—people wouldn’t have to ask questions here in the first place. When I mentioned that recent posts weren’t very helpful, I was specifically referring to the ones about the required duration of funds in the bank for the embassy in Jakarta. Also, the embassy's website doesn't actually mention any specific requirement regarding how long the funds need to be in your account.
The requirement for how long the funds need to be in the bank isn’t very clear—it seems to vary depending on the embassy and even the time of year you apply. In short, it keeps changing.
I’ve had the funds in my account for just over two months now. To be on the safe side, I was thinking of adding another bank balance to strengthen the application, in case the embassy expects the funds to have been there for more than three months. If I knew for sure that three months was the fixed requirement, I’d simply wait until I reached that mark before applying.
Hi Andi, since you're a group expert, by any chance would you know whether I need to have equivalent cash of 20,000 baht when coming to Thailand regarding DTV just in case immigration randomly checks? I knew it’s a requirement for visa exemptions but I'm unsure about DTV. Thanks!

Did search that in the group. Long time ago there seemed to be people with funds in the bank for only a few days but still got the visa. Haven't found recent posts so helpful regarding the duration of funds in the bank.
