, thanks very much for all the info and your patience in answering questions - much appreciated. It's a bit of a minefield trying to work out how best to go about most easily getting the best visa and this sort of relation of 1st hand recent experience is great. Last question, do i need to take a signed copy of my wife's Thai ID or passport too as she will not be with me.

I don`t actually see non-o based on marriage on the list there. only retirement and volunteer... am i missing something? does the dependant one work for husbands of thai women?
