I think the airlines are a bit more flexible when you have a visa rather than travelling with a waiver , my wife and I applied for a setv and only showed the flight in and 1 weeks hotel stay and they were approved in 5 days (uk) I did contact emirates about the one way and explained that we didn’t know what country we would be flying home from as we are spending 6 months travelling Asia with no set itinerary, they said just to show the visa at check in
Update , just checked in all that was asked was how long in Bangkok , just said we’re travelling around and going to Cambodia at some point and that was it , Glasgow airport emirates
thought that would be the case , looking at the Thai consulate and e visa site it looks like I can get an oa here in the uk for a year then and im assuming the drop down on the e visa non immigration, visiting or staying with applicants family in Thailand (more than 60 days) would be the correct one for my wife
thank you Tod appreciate you taking the time to explain all this,I have a better understanding of things now, we may be able to come over long term this year depending if certain stars align but our long term aim is to stay for several years and make Thailand our home if the initial year goes well
thanks for that George that’s pretty clear , what happens in the first 3 months , let’s say we arrive and after a month we decide to go to seam reap for a week can she buy an entry on her 0 visa
ok that’s not too bad , we have time on our hand and by the looks of it it can be done courier service except step 3 which I presume would require a trip to the Bangkok office on arrival to get that stamped by then
