TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the requirements for applying for a single entry tourist visa (eVisa) to Thailand, specifically regarding proof of onward travel. Users share diverse viewpoints on whether a flight out within 90 days is acceptable if the applicant intends to apply for a 30-day extension in Thailand. It is generally noted that proof of onward travel must be within the 60-day validity of the visa. Some users suggest alternative visa types, like the Non-O visa, that do not require onward tickets and can simplify long-term stays in Thailand. Buyers of flight tickets for exit plans within the visa validity are also discussed as a practical solution.

Just buy a bus or train ticket from Nong Khai to Vientiane Laos online for $5 and you have proof of leaving within 60 days. Cheap insurance in case airline or immigration looks for exit plan.

Just apply for DTV in your country come and go as you like for 5 years 10,000 bht fee. No onward ticket required. It's not that hard if you do your research visa on arrival is outdated for long stays why border bounce. Get up with the times

No problem with 90 day return if applying from UK. Just need to check that the airline are OK with it. EVA and Singapore are both happy with that.
It’s your choice, but if you’re passed 50 years and have income min £ 1500, you could just apply for a 90 days Non O visa. Then you’re excused from any onward ticket requirement, it’s cheaper in total than to apply for a tourist visa and do an extension and you don’t have to use (waste) time at the immigration in Thailand.

" folks new member to the group , my wife and I are looking to stay in Thailand for at least a year in 2023 once she hits 50 ,I’m 53 " and then you complain about the financials. So, I repeat, be happy they are still letting you in.
how am I complaining about financials , and that post is from 2023 when we were planning it , but decided on 6 months as family , grandkids etc were a tie , so only spent

months in Thailand , and today’s post was about evisa , no mention of finances and certainly not complaining about anything
ok thanks for that , I did suspect that would be case , earlier in the year when we came in on the 60 waiver the io did ask for onward travel and showed them our flight home in 85 days (explained 30 day extension) and they were fine with that , so wondered if evisa was the same
