I would say that most of the hotels and guest houses I've stayed at over the past few years haven't done it and the reason I know that is because they didn't even ask to see my passport. The ones that did do it were larger hotels or resorts but the smaller ones really don't bother from my experience around Isaan especially
ok. As a 'you didn't hear it from me side note lol... a couple of my friends were offered what they wanted without even having funds but just pay a small 'service" charge to them 🙂
getting angry would have not helped but anyway they all know me from past visits and we get on so on this occasion I just had to convince them that I knew more than they did with this visa 😀
it just goes to show mate that even immigration officials in these more rural provinces don't really know or understand everything about all Thai visas.
